Okay so I'll be the first to say that birds are great, but when we found a group of 6 camped right above our front door, I knew I had to act quick to deter them before they set up a nest and we had a very messy and poop ridden summer doorstep for the next few months. I quickly did some research and it seemed one of the most humane ways to deter/scare away birds is the use of a fake owl. I came across this product and purchased immediately for next day delivery. And let me tell you, it worked immediately! The birds left when I went outside and then never came back and it's been 2 weeks. The owl looks awesome, seems sturdy enough, and the movement of the head (via wind) definitely adds to the effectiveness I think. Plus, it doesn't look hideous or super fake to where I hate having it perched above our door inside a ledge we have. It actually adds a fun little element that I've seen a few kids point out as they walk by. Overall I'd definitely recommend this product for anyone who is looking to keep birds away from unwanted areas in a humane way. I read it isn't foolproof, but worked for us! I also put a few spikes around it to discourage any birds landing beside it.

I lost a laying hen to a hawk (first one in years) so decided to set up a fake owl in hopes that it would scare the hawk away. So far, no hawk in sight so we will see. As for the owl decoy, I'm quite pleased with it. It's very life like, the colors are what you expect an owl to look like. The head swivels freely both directions but the most striking feature are the eyes. They are a brilliant yellow with dialated pupils. Very realistic! As for sturdiness, I've no complaints there. There is a covered hole at the bottom of the owl to put sand or rocks in so it won't fall over. There are also three holes complete with screws should you wish to attach it to a tree branch, fence, etc.The cost of the owl was less than the cost of losing a good laying hen so I'd say it's a very good value for money

The owl looked fairly realistic. The head movement was good but does require a strong wind otherwise it doesn't move that much.It may work for rabbits or other pests but didn't work for ducks on a pond. They came right up next to it.The company/seller was responsive and provided excellent customer service so hence 4 stars vs 3.

We placed this owl decoy on our front porch and it works great. We now have less rabbits and birds visiting our porch and digging in our plants. Highly recommended.

My shipment was missing the wind panel and screws. I will rig up my own wind panel. It seems to be keeping the swallows and doves away. I would haves rated it higher if it included the wind screen.

We have had a battle with birds and squirrels all summer . Birds would leave feces and all kinds of grass and waste that they bring in. They even nested on our balcony, not to mention that squirrels attacked one of the birds and I found it dead on my balcony covered with bugs and ants all over it. The stench was horrible on the balcony. I was searching for a long time how to make them not land on our balcony and tried different stuff, none worked, then I came a cross this owl, well she scared me on first sight lol.To be honest I was a bit skeptic about if it will scare the birds and squirrels hoping in all the time. Since we put the owl no birds or squirrels are even trying to get on the balcony. It’s been two weeks now as we put the owl. So thank you for such a great product! I highly recommend it.

I have a hawk watching my chickens. I bought an owl to scare the hawk away. Seems to be working. I just ordered another one for the other end of the chicken run. Very happy with the owl. Love how his head moves in the breeze. Seems to be sturdy .. fair price for it.
