Such a simple thing-bookends that are useful and decorative! These bookends are very well made of stiff metal, painted a uniform black color. Each set has it's own design, so you can mix and match if you want. One thing to keep in mind is that they are not as large as some of the older-type bookends. A tip: when measurements are given for an item, take out your ruler or a standard piece of paper and see how big that item will actually be. These are smaller than I thought they would be, and the 'tongue' that slides under your books is not as long I thought it would be, either. They work well for me, but I have to keep in mind they aren't for large books. They just aren't that tall or long.

There's not a lot to say about bookends, but this set is pretty and functional. They seem to be well-made and will stand up over time.

Purchased these to for my ladder bookcase. The bookends are not heavy and looks elegant holding the books up.
