Compared to other worm-gear-drive hose clamps I’ve used, the band on these clamps is relatively narrow (compare the clamp on the right, which is this product, to the one on the left in the picture). The width of the band can have either pros or cons, depending on your application. As for the negatives, a narrower band increases the chance that the clamp’s worm-drive might strip if tightened too much. It also reduces the surface area where the clamp’s pressure is applied, which might make them more likely to pinch the hose or allow leaks between the hose and the coupling. But, on the other hand, these will fit into smaller spaces than their wider counterparts. And for tightening a hose around a coupling that has “ribs,†the narrower band should work fine if they aren’t overtightened.

I needed a skinny clamp to clamp a pump hose on a dishwasher. The normal ones are too wide. This one did the job. Only complaint is all I needed was one so a smaller package would have been great.

I used the clamps to attach a metal trellis to 4 metal T-bars. The 23mm - 38mm length was perfect for this project. I am very happy that the clamps are stainless steel.
