Complete Quality Thread repair insert set..I know it's designed for thread repair. But these work great to add threads where threaded rivet nuts just won't work..

These inserts sold by SENNMONN and those made in the same style are the most permanent thread repair inserts you can install. Perfect for replacing threads in steel and much stronger than the original threads when used in other metals such as brass or aluminum. And when purchased in a kit like this, everything you need except the drill motor to turn the tools is included to get the jo done correctly.

These are 100% better than coiled style inserts. They provide a permanent fix that is liquid and pressure tight. I'm changing all of my thread repair sets over to this style. Worth every cent.

I've been using Time-Sert thread repair inserts for many years. They are recommended by a lot of the auto manufacturers as the only approved way to make thread repairs for critical applications like head bolts in aluminum blocks. These are very obviously a copy of Time-Sert type inserts with some minor but significant differences. The bottom of a Time-Sert insert actually gets expanded and locked in place during installation using a trilobal driver tool. These Sennmonn inserts look very similar but do not expand during installation. They rely entirely on threadlocker to keep them in place. The threadlocker is not included. The driver tool has an odd design, an uneven floating ring that contacts the top of the insert, I suspect it's supposed to lock going forward and allow the driver to back out without removing the insert, but I don't understand how it actually works. The instructions indicate to use oil on the driver, which is very important on a Time-Sert, but totally unnecessary with these since there is no thread forming or expanding happening. The cutting teeth on the counterbore tool are not very sharp, I have doubts about how long it will last.I already have Time-Sert kits for most of the common Metric sizes. I ordered these Sennmonn kits in SAE sizes. They are definitely not the same in function, and the quality is questionable. I would not order these again. The Genuine Time-Sert kits are made in USA and can be bought for about the same or even less money. And with Time-Sert I know I can always buy more inserts without buying a new kit. Currently there are no listings for extra Sennmonn inserts for the SAE sizes, making this kit a poor investment.

I acquired this because I mistook it for a tap-ab-die, which it sort of, is.It is a tool to repair a specific size screw hole in metal such as an engine block.I had a mechanic look it over and he says it appears to be good enough quality for just about any use. He would not suggest using it on a NASCAR engine, but, it should be suitable for just about any other use.Apparently, similar sets sell for much more.He agrees with the instructions that you need a few more tools and oil to use the kit properly. He also suggests one must have patience as any tool of this kind takes a proper amount of time to keep it sharp and operational without damaging the tool parts.

This SAE thread repair kit for 3/8" is a solid choice for anyone needing to restore damaged threads. The quality of the tools exceeded my expectations, with durable materials that feel built to last. I was initially hesitant, as I am more familiar with brands like Sennmon, but this kit delivered great results. It includes everything you need to repair 3/8" threads, making the process straightforward and efficient. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover every size, so I’ll need to purchase additional kits for other thread sizes in the future. The biggest downside is the price, which feels quite steep at $77. I had expected something in the $40-$50 range, but maybe that's just my unfamiliarity with thread repair kit pricing. Despite the cost, the kit’s performance and quality make it a worthwhile investment. If you work with 3/8" threads often and want reliable tools, this set is an excellent option.

I haven't had a need to use this yet, but the quality of the kit seems to be decent.

This is a really nice thread repair kit. The threaded inserts will be a lot stronger than the standard helicoil. The kit comes with all the tools, drill, tap etc that you will need to attach the thread repair insert. I see that this company also makes a bunch of other sized thread repair kits. After seeing the quality of this kit I will be buying other sized kits from this manufacturer.
