The black oxide coating on these nuts has a glossy shine and is perfect, with no nicks, scratches or imperfections. They are nicely formed with clean threads, no sharp edges and no burrs. The manufacturer clearly has pride in their products. They thread onto a 1/4" bolt easily but with almost no slop and the serrations on the back of the flange are prominent enough to grip the substrate tightly to prevent rotation. They are very mildly magnetic, which is consistent with cold-formed 304 stainless steel. Between the intrinsic corrosion resistance of the steel and the black oxide coating, these nuts will remain free of corrosion in nearly any environment. I would definitely buy these again.

No problems with these high quality, black-finished flange nuts. The finish seems very well applied, baked on, however they do it. The nuts are machined properly and consistently. A rare earth tiny magnet sticks to these. A regular ferrite magnet is weakly attracted. Everything seems to check out.

The MewuDecor 3/8-16 Serrated Flange Hex Lock Nuts, 304 Stainless Steel Black are made to specifications and attractive.The nuts are not Black Oxide. Black Oxide is a dull, oily finish that is generally applied to high strength steel fasteners that cannot be electroplated. The black finish on these nuts is not oily and it reflects light. It is shinny. These nuts have a beautiful black finish.Serrated lock nuts are used in places where the nut is expected to be removed and reused many times. The serrations provide limited locking capability.I recommend these lock nuts.

I like to keep some of these lock nuts around for automotive use, especially at exhaust flanges. Stainless steel makes maintenance or service easier down the road, and the serrated face keeps the nuts from backing off. These have a pretty nice black finish on them as well, which wasn't a requirement, but it doesn't hurt.As usual, Amazon's price for hardware like this beats the big box stores and makes it easier to keep part like this around before they are needed. The quality is good. Recommended!
