  • Spark plug shavings can damage the engine, recommend to use a compressed air nozzle to blow the shavings out of the cylinder and a borescope make the cylinder clear.

Remember to use/spray lightweight or penetrating oil when using the reamer tool and is good for thread cutting tool as well. When given a "cutting oil" it will go fairly quickly. Follow directions and you are done in less than an hour. You must set the engine up so that the cylinder you are working on is Bottomed out with both valves closed so you can blow out any chips of aluminum with a long snoot air gun. I didn't use the JB Weld, so I don't know how well it works. Mechanic didn't want to use it because of expansion and contraction of the aluminum.

clone of the CAL VAN kit but alot less money,all you need to do all 8 cylinders if your so inclined...Quality and affordable,as with all the bushing type kits you need a 3/8 power ratchet and preferably a 40 dollar boroscope camera to make sure your at BDC(piston all the way down to avoid contact).A plastic straw will probably work too...

I can't believe this worked !!! I drilled and tapped new threads with no problem using my electric ratchet, still working perfectly a month later. So easy to use and the fitment was perfect for my buddies 2004 f150 4.6L 2valve.

Watch plenty of YouTube videos prior. A good air wand is the hardest thing to find, you need it to blow the chips out of the cylinder, very important. Super important to have the piston near bottom dead center with both valves closed so you don't damage the piston or blow chips past the valves into the intake. My only complaint is that the air fitting provided was an oddball type and I had to go to auto parts store to make an adapter, cost about another 20 bucks.No big deal. Make sure you buy an ultra high heat thread locker to put on the external threads of the insert. Also this kit provides stainless steel inserts, just my opinion but I think that stainless is superior to the coated steel variety.

I am always cautious of off-shore products, ordered this after reading previous reviews. It worked perfectly as designed and made the repair quite easy despite the thread damage being severe.

This is a real gift for DIY mechanics. Everything is perfectly made for the engine and well thought out. It comes in a great case with everything you need. It looks made to last too so hopefully I can use this for a long time to come. Save the money and time by getting a kit like this.

Was able to drill out my aluminum heads and re-tap them with little issues to fix a blown out spark plug. Without having to remove heads from the engine on my 2003 ford f150 5.4L V8. Experience may vary but I was able to get the job done after watching a couple YouTube videos on the subject. In short this kit will get the job done. My truck is back on the road with no issues.
