This tore through my double walled beer fridge like a hot knife through butter! I had been struggling with my brand new bi-metal hole saw for entirely too long then broke down and bought this. It was night and day difference.I like the included spring to help remove the cut outs. That is a great touch.I can't speak to longevity, because I only used it once, but it was super sharp and I think it will last long enough for a hole saw in this price range. My only complaint is that the top of the hole saw has a larger diameter ridge that prevents you from boring deeper than the depth of the saw bit. I needed to bore through a 2" fridge wall and had to first drill from the outside, then finish from the inside. It worked fine for my application, but was an unnecessary inconvenience, in my opinion.Disclaimer: I never rate products based on shipping, or if it shows up damaged (assuming I can return it,) or if the color wasn’t what I expected,†it’s irrelevant. Return it & try again, it’s part of online shopping.

So let's talk about holes. I haven't had much experience with hole saws in the past, so I was understandingly apprehensive when looking for something to bore a 90 mm hole through the exterior wall of my house to install a Mini Split air conditioner. The preconception with tools is typically the cheaper they are, the lower the quality. I felt like these saws were mid-range as far as price was concerned, but I worried a bit after reading other reviews. Even so, I gave it shot and figured the price was low enough to take the risk.I was blown away. Between this and the other two items, a diamond grit coring saw and a corresponding arbor adapter, I was able to, albeit slowly, cut through 1/4 inch plaster, 1/4 inch wood lath, 1/2 inch wood (with a nail on the cut line), and 1/4 inch exterior stucco with embedded wire reinforcement with no loss of grit or tooth. This saw also handles sheetrock without a problem.*Important note: other reviews had mentioned teeth breaking off too soon. I am happy to report that I didn't lose any teeth from this saw, even in spite of hitting a nail that was embedded in the wood on my saw line. If you take it slow, you should be fine.*I do want to make a few things clear: I do not recommend the grit saw for wood/sheetrock/ other soft materials due to the packing and heating issues it may cause with the grit. It did handle a little wood without much trouble and knocked out the plaster (which is more like concrete) and stucco with wire with relative ease. This carbide tipped saw is a better choice for soft materials. But, most importantly, you HAVE to take it slow. Do not force the saw to go faster than it is will to on its own and make sure you have a stable hold on the drill because it kicks HARD when it catches in the material, but it will get the job done. I'm looking forward to using these again in the future for my second Mini Split installation.Below are the tools used for this project:Toolocity cbadptr_0038 Adapter For Core Bits-5/8"-11 To 3/8" Triangle Shank, BlackRannb Carbide Hole Saw 90mm/3.54" Cutting Dia Hole Saw Drill Bits for Cutting Stainless Steel & AlloyDry Diamond Core Drill Bits,BGTEC 1pc 3-1/2" 90mm Diamond Hole Saw with 5/8-11 Thread for Porcelain Tile,Ceramic Granite Marble Stone Masonry Brick

I had some weight plates that had a slightly undersized hole for my barbell. This bit did a pretty good job enlarging them from 26-27 mm up the required 28mm. I did about 15 plates, some just slightly reaming the hole, but 5 of them required significant drilling of about 5 minutes per plate. The bit worked well in my drill press for smaller plates, hand drill for large plates. Did not use the pilot bit, just the outer hole saw portion. Now that I am done, the bit shows significant wear and cuts more slowly. I used cutting oil for the cuts. The bit was well worth the purchase price for my application, but if you have many holes to cut, there might be a better product.

I purchased the 4" tool along with Forney 20857 Tap Magic Industrial Pro Cutting Fluid (4 oz) and cut through 3/4" steel with ease. Each cut took less than 5 minutes to complete.

Used this to cut two 1 1/2" holes in 1/4" thick steel plate. The bad: the pilot bit would not make much more than a tiny divot in the metal, even using cutting oil. I had to use higher quality bits to bore a pilot hole. The good: once that was done, the cutters on the saw housing made contact and went surprisingly well through the steel, making a nice, clean cut (see the removed material in the picture).I give equal importance to the pilot bit and hole saw since one needs the other to work properly, so just 3 stars.

It takes about 1-2 minutes per hole—super efficient! One tip: avoid using the hammer setting; the regular drill setting works best.
