This thin, tough, sharp cutting non-woven abrasive roll is ultra flexible and conformable for cleaning or fine finishing. It replaces steel wool to eliminate contamination. The abrasive is an ultra fine grade silicon carbide. This gray sheet roll can be used for wood-working, metalworking, synthetics fabrication, and maintenance operations.

I really didn't want to spend this much for synthetic steel wool, but this looked like the only product that was what I wanted. Sadly, it is not what I wanted. This product is okay--It's a roll of individual 5" x 6" x 1/3" pads. What I was looking for is a synthetic steel wool in a "biscuit" resembling a Brillo Pad, or old-fashioned Shredded Wheat big biscuits. These are just a punch of pads like a paper towel roll. I could have purchased the equivalent at any of the local bog box stores (e.g., Lowe's, Menard's, Home Depot) for far less in both quantity and price.I've used on pad and it works about the same as other pads, but not nearly as effectively as the biscuits that used to be made and sold.

Scotch-Brite by 3M is a great product. Generally speaking anything marketed by 3M works as advertised. Scotch-Brite is a good example. However, if it is 3M you're going to pay well for the product. In this case there isn't a good alternative, when there is, you can save money with alternate brands.

Four stars is good but I thought it would be more abrasive. That could be my fault for not choosing the correct part number. That said this abrasive cloth is really good s a cleaner for grill racks in the kitchen or cleaning metal parts in the workshop.
