I use this product for cleaning a Flat Top outdoor gas grill (steel), similar to the Blackstone 36 inch sold here on Amazon. The Grill Brick worked as intended, and for a great price. Definitely, use gloves or a towel to hold the brick, and rinse off the residue. The Grill Brick will "disintegrate" while you are using it, that's the design of this style of grill brick. I have used this style in a few commercial kitchens, and it helps the griddles stay clean and last a very long time.Do not use on a non-stick coated surface, unless you want to scratch / remove that surface!!!I would recommend using while the Grill / Griddle is still hot / warm, as it cleans a little better that way. Have a little oil on the grill (bacon grease, spray canola oil, etc), scrub away using short back and forth, and circular motions. Then scrape off the gunk (grill brick and grease), and wipe clean or hose it off. Make sure you scrub / wipe / hose it well, as there will be grill brick particles left over if you don't.

These are softer than I expected, but they clean the heavy gauge grate on my Weber quite well. Groves that match the grate work into the brick quickly and you need to swipe "the other way" to compensate every few cleanings. A lot of residue falls into the BBQ and you need to be sure to wipe the grate with a paper towel so that none of the residue gets into your food. Start by holding the block with that paper towel or wear gloves. All that said, I'm still on my first brick after a few months. It's about half the size it was. It works better than anything else that I have tried.

I’ve used many methods for cleaning a grill from scouring pads to chemicals to grill bricks. Bricks are the most dependable, easy to use option I’ve found. A little oil and go to town. This 3M product is the best brick I’ve found to date. They don’t fall or flake apart. Sure, they wear down as you go. As expected. But the brick stays intact unlike others.
