These are very good for removing sealant or silicone from aluminum housings without removing material or damaging mating faces. Very fine sub-straight in the material works excellent for light cleaning. Wouldn't recommend for gasket removal, you'll be there all day working the tool.

I bought these white discs as they are the only "approved" product for removal of debri from Subaru head gaskets. They worked very well in addition with a 2" Roloc disc pad holder and an angle air grinder from Harbor Freight tools. One of the pics is before the debris was removed, and the other is after buffing the block surface. It worked great, just wish I hadn't had to purchase an entire box of them! lol ;)

I bought these hoping that they would be better suited to the things I do soooo I bought them with the hope that they might be better, and my goodness they are! They eat through paint and gasket material like no tomorrow with no noticeable wear to the disk itself! I use these on engines during the restoration process and they are simply amazing. I'm still on the first disk where as I would have gone through 5 or 6 scotch style pads!Even though they are very aggressive against gasket and paint, they are somehow gentle enough to remove all the paint off of a soda pop can, with no damage to the can and no wearing through! I'm summary, if you work on cars and frequently clean random things from gasket surfaces to hard brake lines, get them you won't regret it at all!6 star product right here, I just wish the other grits of them were cheaper :(

Simply put, these work! The best price with the best shipping - what's not to love? If you need these, then this is the place to get them. I even gave my neighbor some for his projects, and when I told him how much I spent, his jaw hit the floor!Edit: After writing this intial review, I realized that I had bought these for $15.32 for 20 of them through Amazon Prime. Yeah, no wonder I feel like I made out like a bandit! I don't know if that happens very often, but I was truly fortunate to happen upon them at a FANTASTIC price. Rolocs are Rolocs are Rolocs - they are consistently some of the best products out there for grinding or polishing or sanding. Do these work? Absolutely. Are they expensive? Well, it seems that they might be now........

Bought these for removing glued on gasket material from an aluminum block and heads, they are definitely too abrasive for that job. I've used them to remove paint from fuel tanks and things like that though and they work wonders for jobs like that and last really long time. I'm still going through my first box. Basically if it's not a super important aluminum mating surface that you never want to see again, these are great.

These are what you want for cleaning up aluminium. I rebuild outboard motors and most have aluminum blocks. I was hesitant to spend the money on something that would damage the close tolerance on the faces but now this is all I will use when cleaning off seals and gaskets. Well worth it

First, these are fine/extra fine Roloc (White) Bristle Discs . So don't expect them to be aggressive. I used them to clean old gasket material from aluminum head and cylinder on a ATV. I did not want the aggressive (Yellow, Green) Roloc disks for fear of cutting into the machine surface. Plan on scrapping the bulk of the old gasket off. These are for final cleanup. I was able to do the entire job with one disk. I gave 4 stars because this is the first time I used these and don't know long term life.
