The machine balls are made of high-quality phenolic plastic with a threaded brass insert. Phenolic plastic is commonly known by brand names such as BAKELITE, MICARTA, AND RESINOX. Phenolic plastic (phenol-aldehyde resin) contributes to a large percentage of all molded plastic products and is used almost exclusively for industrial plastic materials. It is a tough, durable plastic that is ideal for machine control knobs.The original ball handle of my DELTA drill press was made of flimsy plastic that stripped and split…. The larger ball feels better in my press handle giving me a better grip on the control lever. This product was far superior to the OEM part. ProTip: Make sure you measure your thread type and pitch before you buy. If you have a tap-and-die set, you’ll have metric and imperial thread gauges.I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program so I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review.
