I routinely brush my big dog's teeth and he's used to that process, but this product is not a toothbrush and it's not toothpaste, either. Instead, it's a bleach product designed to be painted onto the surface of the dog's teeth while they hold their mouth open and don't lick it away. Well... good luck with that. It is mint flavored and there's absolutely no way to get my dog to hold his mouth open while I apply this to his teeth, much less to leave his mouth open while it dries. The moment I get any of this on his teeth, he just licks it up. It's not that he loves the flavor (he does not!) but that it has a flavor at all and therefore makes it really obvious to him that there's a product on his teeth. Of course he's going to lick them and try to get rid of it.It is supposed to take at least a week of daily applications to start to notice any whitening effect. And since it's literally just a whitener and mint oil, it's not actually changing any dental degradation; it's purely for the aesthetics. That's not worth the effort of trying to keep my dog's mouth open and his tongue away from the teeth for several minutes every day.

I tried all three according to the instructions and neither of them worked. The liquid would not come out. I could see the liquid but it would not come down to brush. Now I have to make a trip to UPS to send it back!!!! Not happy about that either!!!

My dog HATES to have his teeth brushed, and my other dogs just wants to chew on the toothbrush. These are so easy to use and they are perfect for travel. Simply twist the end till the gel comes out and brush it on the teeth. Love how easy this is to use, will be buying again. 5 stars

Before trying this product, I asked my veterinarian about it. He said the ingredients were ok. It contains peppermint, which may cause irritation in some pets, but also some pets won't tolerate the taste. You get three pens with a brush on one side and a twist bottom which pushes the gel up through the brush. This is not a toothbrush. You paint this product on your pet's teeth as much as possible. Then the hard part is you have to hold their mouth shut for three minutes so they don't lick all the product off. I have a small dog who, though not happy about it, does cooperate. You are supposed to try this two times a day for a week and then once weekly to maintain. I tried it once a day as that is what my dog would cooperate with. My cats would not let me even get close to using this on them, much less sit there for three minutes. I didn't really notice much improvement at all on my dog's teeth. The product did not seem to bother my dog at all or irritate his gums. This product may help with maintaining the teeth if you can't brush or otherwise treat your pet's teeth, but it's not going to make your animal's teeth glowing white as it would have to be much stronger. It's worth a try if you can get your pet to cooperate.

Although I can't honestly speak neither highly or negatively about the product, I can say I had difficulty using the product on my dogs. It is like a painter's brush that you have to somehow paint the "gel" onto the dog's teeth (at least that's what I think you're supposed to do). This is a very difficult thing to do considering my dogs normally does not sit still for me to do that. Although I am able to brush the dogs teeth while they're closing their mouths, they do not sit there showing off their "pearly whites" allowing me to brush this get on, so my review f this product is inconclusive being that I am unable to really try it (other than to say that my attempt was unsuccessful).

These small toothbrushes for dogs are very nice. The bristle, which is like the shape of a marker tip, has enough give to it to not injure the dog’s gums. It works well on all his teeth. If your dog gets used to having his teeth brushed these brushes are just about perfect. My pup will adjust to them pretty easy as I consistently use them . The shape is smaller than a human type toothbrush so it doesn’t feel like you are cramming something into his mouth. We really like this product

This product is a complete letdown. The design is flawed—turning the tube is required to dispense the gel, but more often than not, it gets stuck, refusing to release the gel no matter how much effort is applied. To add insult to injury, I ended up losing two out of the pens included with the kit due to this faulty mechanism.The ingredients—glycerin, carbamide peroxide, peppermint oil, and triethanolamine—seemed promising at first glance, but they proved utterly incompatible with my Boston Terrier's biology. Despite my hopes, it had absolutely no effect on his teeth, leaving them as they were, untouched by this so-called 'tooth gel.' Save your money and your frustration—this product is a total failure.
