All these years of sewing and I never knew these existed. They do help with straight seams. I have 6 curtains to shorten so they really are exactly what I need. The metal bit on my machine is large enough for 2 of these, so will definitely be a great help.

My wife had tried another seam guide previously. That one was all metal and it had two adjustable spring loaded arms with presser feet. These kept the fabric down and straighter as it left the needle. It was excellent except that the magnet was so strong (good) that my wife could not lift it from the machine, but had to slide it off. Trouble is, its all metal magnet scratched up the machine.These do not have that issue. The magnet is plenty strong, but there is a plastic surface which is far less likely to scratch up your machine.They lack any kind of adjustable pressers, however. A mix of the two would be ideal, but these are still useful. One of the spare guides can sometimes be used to control the fabric instead. Not quite as effective, but still better than nothing.The markings are hard to see (some permanent marker may solve that). The straight side is fine to use, but the curve side is a bit trickier because the actual guide is hidden from view when in use.

When I saw these I asked my wife if she thought they might be useful, as she quite creative with her sewing. She had not seen them before and said that she would like to give them a go. Once arrived, they look pretty plain, but they apparently work very well. The magnets I can testify are strong, and hold them in place very well provided your machine has metal in the right place, our fortunately does. My wife gave one a test run and reported that it made it easier to feed the material through the machine, and keep a tidy seam. So, it seems these are definitely a keeper and will reside in her sewing box henceforth!

Very useful item - just tried while sewing a zip and a few seams and I was able to do both much more quickly than usual as it was much easier to feed the material through in the right position.The magnets are extremely strong so it stays exactly where you put it. I can't think of any reason why anyone would want three of them, but I suppose you can give the spares to your sewing friends.

The magnets are strong enough to stick really well to my machine and not move during the sewing process, in fact so strong they do not slide easily when I want to move them and have to lift and replace which is really good. The straight seam side is really useful, not got the hang of the curved side yet but will try again soon. The metal plate on my machine is not big enough to have all three on it. The three are identical apart from the colour. They do have cm measurements on them but not easy to see. Recommended product.
