I thought these faux books would be a box that you open from the top, but they are, in fact, just cardboard. Technically, there is a "box" where the "pages" would be, but it's not something that I would use for storage. Putting together the boxes was easy enough, but the outer cardboard "cover" didn't want to bend over the inside box and sit nicely, so the outer cover is slightly wonky. I've set some heavier items on top of them to hopefully get the outer cover to close and set correctly. From a distance these look nice enough but for the price I feel like these just aren't the kind of quality products I was expecting, and they literally have no use - for storage or otherwise - purely decorative.

These are just what I needed for my shelf. I have real books, but the books I like to read don't have great covers that go with what I would consider pretty for house decor. And I didn't feel like browsing a bookstore to get pretty books that I wouldn't read either. This set was a great compromise! Super lightweight and BEAUTIFUL next to my neutrals and white modern farmhouse.

This stack of books is stylish. You can tell up close that they are fake but they look good to fill a shelf.

These faux books are lovely. They're sturdy and seem durable for being made of paperboard. The size is a bit smaller than I expected, but they do measure exactly as stated in the listing. No assembly needed with these either, they arrive ready to go. I got these to use in staging a home for sale, and they're perfect!
