This was the second set of clamps that I ordered. The first set was too small – ordered based on the rope size in the clamp description. This size was the correct size, but one of the screws to put the clamps together was not a screw – rather a threaded rod. Poor quality control, and poor description means not worth taking the risk if you want to successfully use the clamps to clamp rope.

Honestly, I am not sure about the use case. Everything about them physically is of a well enough made product out of good enough materials. It grips the rope just fine. Honestly though, there are many knots, not the least of which being the bowline hitch, that will do this function just fine, look neat, and can be applied faster. Perhaps the purpose is for very tidy looking applications? I just can't picture myself reaching for these in practice if I had a drawer full of them.

These clips are an alternative to an end loop knot. They give a cleaner look, but don't have the same strength. That said, it held better than I thought it would, I was able to move a few hundred pounds with it attached to my winch, but I was clearly stressing it.I found it easy to install and I like the clean look.Overall these are great for light duty applications. As the description states, it's best used for leashes and tie offs, but it does have more capability, I just wouldn't plan on anything that has high safety risk or lifting.
