Our Brown Sugar saver is made of high-quality terracotta, that is the perfect addition to baking supplies for preserving brown sugar and many other cooking and baking ingredients. Soften or maintain moisture brown sugar after soaking in water, granulated sugar, conversely, keep spices, salt, crackers, pretzels and chips dry and crispy without soaking.

Terra Cotta Brown Sugar Saver
This food-safe terracotta brown sugar keeper made of terra cotta clay and fired that softens hard brown sugar. All you have to do is soak the disc in water, pat it dry, and store it in your brown sugar container or kitchen canisters. Moisture is released slowly to keep brown sugar moist and soften longer .

Usage
Rinse directly with water
Soak in water for 15 - 20 minutes
Pat dry and tuck it in the brown sugar
How does it work?
The brown sugar keeper disc has been fired in the kiln to a temperature that allows it to be solid but still very absorbent. Simply soak the brown sugar bear in clean water for 20 minutes, pat dry, and place with items in an airtight container. Moisture is released slowly to keep items moist longer.
Should items begin to harden, just remove brown sugar bear and repeat the soaking process.
Keep Moisture Out:
Dry brown sugar saver disc (not soaked or bake to dry). Place disc in any food item you want to keep dry and crisp such as spices, salt, crackers, chips and other pantry staples.

I had a container of brown sugar that was as hard as a rock. I didn’t really think these would work super well but figured it’d give them a tey anyway. In just a day or so my brown sugar was so soft. I was impressed. I had used something like these in the past and it seems like this one works better.

These are cute, and are a good size for use in containers. They're super easy to use you just pop then in the container with say cookies to keep them dry or wet it and through it in your brown sugar. Good quality and work well.

The very low humidity here in the high desert climate of northern New Mexico makes it very easy for brown sugar to dry out. So, I ordered these sugar bears. After soaking them in water, I bury them in the brown sugar and have been pleased at how well the sugar stays soft and ready to use. When I use up that sugar, simply soak the sugar bear to get rid of any clinging sugar and let it dry out until I need it again. I do not wash it in soap because I don't want the soap to get absorbed and then impart a soap flavor to the sugar.

I sent some of these as stocking stuffer gifts but also got some more for myself. Softened up cookies in tin overnight so I've added the little bears to the raisins, cranberries and marshmallows.
