I was looking to get better headlight sockets for my 9004s, as I am running relays directly from my battery to reduce voltage drop in my headlights, and have seen the factory sockets melt from handling the 12 volt current (that is actually supposed to be reaching the headlights) in other cars.Since there was only one advertised feature on Amazon (Heavy Gauge Wiring), I went on an expedition to discover more about this product. 3A Racing's supposed web site shows you another company which apparently belongs to a well-known tire distributor, and the sockets aren't in their product list...blah blah blah. This is actually manufactured by Netami, and their product details on this show...you guessed it, "Heavy Gauge Wiring"! It's a good thing they actually had a picture of the product in the packaging, so I could blow the jpeg up and read it.The package advertises:Insulated plugs handle temperatures hotter than 482 degrees fahrenheit.Pre-spliced, heavy gauge wiring.Easy Installation.Getting no actual technical specs other than the "Over 9000!"-ish temperature listing, I figured I wouldn't be out too much if they turned out badly, so I ordered two.Pro:Material surrounding electrical contacts is some sort of ceramic; it should be much better at handling heat than the factory plastic.Wires are thickly insulated and appear to be made of silver (which, if true, would mean they are about 10% more conductive than copper); however, this leads us to...Con:Advertised "heavy gauge" wires are definitely not 12 gauge, they are smaller, 14 or maybe 16 gauge; so, still better than factory, but not as large as I'd like. If they are silver I don't really mind, as the extra conductivity should make up for this some, but I can't be sure of that. In the pictures, the heavy insulation makes the wire look more like 12 gauge. All in all, I'm reserving judgement until I've had them in my car for a while, but I think they'll perform fine; just wish I hadn't had so many hoops to jump through to get the limited information I did prior to the purchase.

After burning up an OEM socket by using a 100w off road lamp, I tried this socket. After about 6 months, it burned up too. Have a back-up ready for when you're pulled over.

I got these for my 2000 Crown Vic as part of a project to revamp the headlight wiring. They arrived in pink, which is no big deal, not like anyone besides myself will see them. The only problem is that they are a somewhat loose fit, so I recommend checking on them here and there to be sure they are making a good connection.Overall it is decent quality and serves the purpose.
