The pads are attached to a softer pad that is great to hold onto, however, the diamonds are on a hard piece of metal and do not bend or conform to the surface you are sanding or polishing. If polishing glass or other hard surface, I would test the pads on a non-obvious location to make sure it won't scratch it and use the 400 grit.I have a diamond knife sharpener that I've used for decades and it is still working great, I assume these pads will last a long time as well which is why I got them.Highly Recommended.

I did like these diamond pads, they are great for sanding. I used them on some PLA after a print job and they worked exceptionally well. I did have one issue however. One of the pads delaminated from the diamond plate. I think it was just a S&H issue so I ordered up a replacement. The ones I did use were comfortable in my hand and easy to get the job done.It also seemed like some of the diamond dust fell away from the plate as well but it didn't seem to be more than just surface waste left from the manufacturing process because as a while, they kept on sanding away.I did received this product for “free†yes but... the IRS does require that I pay federal income tax on the retail value of this or any product that I receive for review. In any case, this review is my honest opinion and independent of seller or manufacturer involvement.
