Used these to put up new trellis wires in my backyard grape vines. Really did the trick to put the right tension on the training wires.

I received this product via an Amazon promotion. No other compensation has been made. This review represents my own, unbiased opinion about the product and my experiences with it. Unless explicitly stated, I have no affiliation or relationship with the supplier of the product being reviewed.I have tried out 2 of these so far. They work reasonably well. One of them had some tight spots when operating, likely due to some variations in thread machining. I wouldn't say that it bound up, but it did have a noticeable increase in friction in a few places. I wouldn't say these are the highest quality, but they do get the job done. They are a black finish on stainless, though I can't really confirm the stainless aspect of them. Some of the black finish has started to wear on the threads. I noticed the wear more at the points with increased friction (as expected). For the price, these are decent. However, if you want a high quality product, I would look elsewhere. If you just want something that's black and don't mind if a little finish wears on the threads, this will accomplish the job. I would buy these again, but I'd only use them in situations where I'm not too concerned about the load capacity or smooth operation.

I used this to hang a 20x20' sun shade from my roof rafters. The hooks are really sturdy and had no problem supporting the shade, even when tightened to keep the shade taut. The held up well in wind too.

These turnbuckle hooks are working well to hold a 10 x 14 x 14 foot triangular shade cloth panel over our chicken run. We've had some strong winds lately and they have all held fast.

I built an open-sided house for our pet ducks earlier this year, and I've decided I want to anchor it to the ground at the corners. I'm still selecting my auger-style ground anchors, but I'm going to use these turnbuckles to tie the anchors to the house with the stainless pad eyes shown. The turnbuckles seem like they'll be strong enough for my purposes, although the bodies feel a little lightweight. You can also see that the two screws aren't quite aligned when this is fully retracted. Given that these have a black coating (powder coat?) I have to take their word for it that these are stainless steel. If I have any corrosion issues down the road, I'll update this review accordingly. In the end, I think these will provide the hold-down strength I'm looking for, in addition to the weather-resistance I need.

Good turnbuckle hook. About 7 inches and lengthens to about 11 inches. Manufacturer claims it will hold 600lbs. Not sure about that but certainly good enough for many home, shop and garden purposes. In my case it will be used to tension a seasonal awning. I'm using black 1/8in cable and these will fit into the overall look with it's black finish. Nice size and more then enough strength for this application. 5 stars.

Great heavy duty turnbuckles with amazing versatility. They seem to be well-made and should last a long time.
