I have a GE over-the-range microwave model PVM9179SK2SS. These filters fit perfectly. They are easy to install, as they just slide into a slot at the top of the microwave. Getting the old one out was a little tricky as there’s not much room for your fingers. I finally resorted to using a pair of tongs, which made it quite easy.The last time I bought replacement filters for this microwave I paid $13 for a 2-pack. So $17 for 8 is a relative bargain. They appear to be of similar quality.

I used this to replace the filter in my GE microwave, and this looks identical to the old filter that came with it. It looks like the same construction and will be just as sturdy and last just as long.

I really have no idea why microwaves even need filters but these are the exact same size as the one that came with out GE microwave and they seem to work the exact same. The one that came with our microwave has a grid on one side, and these have the grid on both sides, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. The corners are a bit rough looking but I'm fine with that since no one will be seeing these but me. Like I said, I know nothing about microwave filters but these have been working fine for us so far.
