Quality, sturdy, functional - food grade also, which is necessary for our honey harvest. Great price!

The lids for these are the worst I've bought, and I've bought 3 different sets of 5 gallon buckets at this point. They are similar to the standard 5 gallon bucket lid with the flaps all the way around, but these ones only have one tab. So you would think they would be great and easy to remove, especially since the lip around the top of these buckets is so much more narrow than all of the other 5 gallon buckets I've purchased. But they are actually WAY WORSE, because they are super tight once you get them on, but that singular tab doesn't allow you to get any leverage.I literally had to open every one of my 5 gallon food buckets yesterday (I have a farm where I grow my own food, so I use them to store the different beans and grains we save for the year, so we have a different bucket for each bean or grain, and we're vegetarian, so we eat a lot of beans) so I could upgrade to storing some of the contents in mylar bags to help them last the whole year without risking the odd bug destroying the entire bucket for the ones that are more than half full. And by sitting on one side of the typical bucket and straddling it while gently prying up the tabs on the other side, I was able to remove all of the normal tabbed lids without great difficulty (even though they are notorious for being difficult). But when I got to this style of bucket, it was most impassioned for me to remove it, no matter how I tried. I don't remember how I finally managed to get it off, but I sure was thankful that I had only used one of these stupid buckets because my hands hurt and I had no strength left. I was actually left feeling more physically drained than I have been in a long time, even after doing heavy farm lifting for the entire day. That's how difficult it was to get this thing off. I came very close to just cutting into the bucket... Which wouldn't have been difficult because these buckets are MUCH THINNER than all of the other 5 gallon buckets I've purchased. So once I finally had the lid off, I decided that there was no way out was going back on. So I had some extra Gamma lids and decided to switch to that... Only to discover that it won't fit because the lip around the bucket is too narrow and won't let the Gamma ring attach to it! So I also tried the cheap non-food-grade lids that go work the hardware store buckets, and those won't work either because these buckets are narrower at the top then the hardware store buckets. So there's no possible way to use them with any other lid than the one that they come with, and that lid is practically impossible to remove. So I would have gladly returned these buckets if I could, but I'm past the return window and I already had to remove the seal from that lid that I had used. But let this be a warning to you. Do not use these buckets if you ever want to be able to access what's inside again. The only thing I can do with them now is turn them into mushroom buckets like a guy I saw online. He drills holes into the outside of the buckets and fills the inside with straw and the mushroom spawn and then covers them with their Lids on the tops. But since you have to be able to put fresh straw in to continue to feed the mushrooms, I will have to rig up something different for the top. So I will probably cover them with heavy plastic and attach those with a bungee cord around the outside to hold the plastic in place. That would be secure enough for the mushroom needs. But there is no way I'm putting another one of those lids on those buckets. In fact the whole reason I'm on here giving a review it all is because I had to come back to look for more buckets to replace that one and this is the one that Amazon popped up and recommended to me because it's the one I purchased the most recently. But this is the one I am definitely not going to be purchasing again. So I popped into explain why so that you can avoid making the same mistake as I did.

With how much these buckets cost in blue or orange from the big box home improvement stores, getting the six pack is like getting two free buckets. I used one set with a volleyball for a giant beer pong street game. Totally fun at a BBQ!

We wanted plain, white buckets with lids, no markings or advertising. These fit the bill and were competitively priced versus what we can get at local stores. Bravo!
