Please rinse with running water and keep stirring the sand to remove the dust, the water will be a little bit cloudy after you put it into the tank, the filter system will work for 1-2 days to remove it completely!

This sand arrived quickly. I used half of a 5lb bag for my 2.5 gallon tank. The sand was dirty, so I put it in a gallon pitcher and rinsed it, swishing my hand around the pitcher thoroughly, draining the filling back with water. It took 10 times doing this to clean it, so not bad. The 2nd Pic is the water on first rinse, so you definitely need to rinse it.Fish and shrimp are all happy and doing great!

Using this white sand for my black and white aquarium set up. Putting it inside the bottom of a 3D printed cave to make the animals stand out more. Still waiting for the cave so no picture, sorry.

Sand is clean, and very white color, but for an aquarium, it appears much finer than the illustration of it being held in a hand, it seems to me to be the same as beach sand, or mason sand, but if trying to vacuum an aquarium it all just gets sucked out, if used in crafts or other use that commands a clean, perfectly white sand it is a high quality product, that will probably work well for you.
