Having not used polishing pads before I cannot compare longevity to other consumables. I was surprised that the pads managed to hold together at full angle grinder RPM. Use with a polishing compound. Predictably running over a not completely deburred bit of metal did shred the wool.

Well made wool pads. They hold up great and do a great job. Not much fiber gets blown around like some others.

I got this to go in to smaller areas on a stainless pressure tank.I would not run these on an angle grinder that only has a single max speed. You should run these on a slower speed, not max speed. You can use a router speed controller to lower the speed of a cheap angle grinder. The flap style is better for controlling heat, so for thin surfaces you won't see as much warping. I use white polishing compound or flitz with this. It turns black almost instantly, but it's still working. This might be appropriate for small curved areas on a bumper where you need to get closer to an edge and a large buffer wheel wouldn't reach.

I really like that these discs hold their shape better than other polishing discs I've used. There's no flying pieces that get everywhere. They work great on epoxy surfaces as well as wood. I get a nice smooth surface with what I would describe as a soft shine. I'm not sure how long they will last, but I'm very pleased with their performance.

I had gotten some other wool discs for polishing on my angle grinder in the past. I don't think they had a real max RPM posted on them anywhere, and the disc itself was a sort of plastic. I've used them, but I worry they will blow to pieces and cut me up. This is the same thing, except the disc is in flaps. I think that this will actually buff a little faster than just a flat pad. Also, the disc is durable and appears to be made of actual material used in angle grinders. It also has a max rpm listed of 18,000, so I can use these and feel more confident it's not going to break apart.

When detailing cars, it helps to have a wide range of tools to polish and clean the paint, the metal, the plastic, the chrome, etc. These flap discs bridge that gap between the larger tools that are difficult to fit in tight spaces, and the tools that are too small to be effective. These discs appear to be well-made and fit both my cordless and corded grinders. They have held up very well so far and it seems like the quality of the materials will allow them to hold up for years to come. I'm very satisfied with these flap discs.

I tested one of these wheels out on an old pitted cast aluminum piece from my scrap pile. On the right you can see what I got with a Scotchbrite style abrasive pad disc, and then on the left is the final result with the felt disc, using some brown polishing compound.

Holding up well. Fit my grinder.
