I read a LOT of reviews before purchasing. This is indeed metal (and so doesn't match the plastic knobs that came with the stove, but it FITS PERFECTLY. I was worried about the other reviews that describe the knob as bad because it gets "hot" so I only bought one instead of five. Yes, the knob gets warm. It's no big deal. This is an excellent product.

Took a chance and ordered these for my 5 burner GE Stove. Oh geez! The old ones are light plastic and these replacements are HEAVIER stainless knobs that fit tightly onto the gas controls. Push in and turn on the flame ignition, we have heat. Quality heavy knobs, I ordered 5 and needed only one. I ended up replacing all the knobs to make the stove shine and kept the 4 lightweight plastic knobs as backup knobs.

Ordered these as replacement for my flaking, bubbling, cheesy plastic knobs on my GE stove. For the price of the oven you'd think they'd have solid knobs. HA! No such luck. The originals were very thin plastic and the numbers started flaking off and there was some bubbling I assume from the heat of the oven. Looked around on several sites, including the manufacturer's, and all of them had the same description "Metal look". Sad. Finally found these (less expensive than many of the "OEM" offerings out there) and the only ones that said "solid metal". Thought it too good to be true, but given the price I figure I'd take a shot. Well, I couldn't be happier. Solid metal as advertised and a nice tight fit on the stove. Only thing I can't speak to yet is the durability. Pretty sure that bubbling won't be an issue, but we'll see if we get the same issue of the numbers flaking off. Time will tell and if there IS a problem, I'll update this review; but as of today I am more than happy with the purchase. I see some folks in other reviews complaining that the knobs didn't fit their grill. Don't think it the description it talked about grills anywhere. Please read the information on compatible models. If you've got a matching model, I couldn't recommend these highly enough.

I can't even believe the massive difference these knobs made. The knobs that came with my stove were plastic with paint (which was disappointing) and every time I cleaned them, the paint would flake off. These knobs are heavy and stainless steel. They look amazing and they feel amazing! They fit perfectly! I wish I'd have known about these when I bought the stove. My stove looks much better without flaking stainless steel with white plastic knobs.

After 2 months every knob has broken and cracked in the back due to plastic. My first review is below. I now have to go buy all new 5 knobs again.First Review:These knobs are heavier and sturdier than what came with my GE stove. They are nice and the material does not peel off when you clean them. I have the JGBS86SPSS and it fit my model - double oven. I had to aggressively put them on, my gas stove lights perfectly and so much easier now. I don’t have to try and light the stove over and over it just turns on now! I love that when you walk by the stove and accidentally touch the nozzle it doesn’t move and turn on the stove. I have had this issue and it’s so worrisome when you have kids. Overall great product!

I had to replace the original knobs on my gas range because the knob markings were like a decal (that’s the only way I could think to describe it) and started peeling off, WHICH WAS DRIVING ME NUTS! These knobs fit exactly like the original ones, look the same-really better, than the original knobs on my GE gas/convection range. They are stainless steel, feel sturdy, AND I doubt the control setting numbers will peel off. (If they start to peel or scratch I will update my review.) However, if your oven is on for a while, these knobs get WARM, and might become TOO HOT to touch, if the oven was on for several hours (cooking a turkey or maybe prime rib.) I read other reviews and at least one reviewer mentioned this so I was prepared for the knobs to become warm. But, after my oven was on 375 for about 75 minutes the knobs were REALLY WARM. However, they were a good price and appear to be made well so I’m going to keep them, since our kids are grown and I don’t cook as much as I used to. If you have small kids or are sensitive to heat, I would probably just pay the ridiculous price GE charges for replacement knobs, unless you hardly use your oven! (Also, the reason the knobs get warm is because the oven door vents just below the knobs behind the door handle.) I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I assume several people have had the same experience and I think the seller should add that information in the item description.

Above and beyond fantastic. When I got my brand new stove handles were just cheesy and after two years, they were just nasty. The cover was coming off of them. They were just nasty. I absolutely love these. They are heavy duty strong and just absolutely fantastic. I love them. I would highly recommend them.
