Pros:o Self-healing, tested, works properlyo Double side with imperial and metric unitso Five in a pack means you never need another one!Cons:o A little outgassing on first unwrappingMy wife is a big time crafter, including quilting. She uses a roatary cutter on these mats, and it is important that they have the self-healing thing working. She tested these out and reports that they indeed work as advertised. The outgassing is a little annoying when you first get the mats, but it only lasts a few days. I should note that she says this is something that *every* mat she has ever purchased goes through, it must be a characteristic of the material commonly used.--------I'm honored to be included in the Amazon Vine program, and I work really hard to make these reviews and videos helpful. I put in a lot of effort to try to help you learn the most important facts about the product. Good luck with your decision, and if you do decide to buy the product, I hope the things you find in this review make it easier to use.

This is my second self-healing cutting mat -- so I can't help but compare it to my other one. First and foremost, this passed the "self-healing" test after trimming a project with a razor blade on it, leaving behind just a few subtle scratches. So, it functions well. I also use the ruled side to photograph measurements of items I sell online and I love how clearly and boldly the numbers show up on this mat. (My other mat uses blue numbers on green, instead of white on green, and sometimes they don't show up so well in photos, so I'll be using this one from now on.)I do notice that this mat is a little thinner than my other mat and is more flexible. So, I may reserve this one for using in photos and do the cutting on my thicker mat. But this definitely can still do the job.

It works well. Its handy that this came in a 5 pack. I feel like this is usually the price you would pay for one mat. Its really light and make it easy to take with me on sewing retreats. I can just keep one in my car to have on hand.I do feel like its pretty thin. I know the description states 5 layers but its hard to believe. Its pretty durable and holds up well with my cuts. I havent tried to clean it to self heal it so I will update when that time comes. For the money its definitely worth it.You can flip it over for different measurements or uses as pictured.

These are high quality mats like you would find at any reputable craft store, right down to their smell. They are abnormally heavy for what you think they should weigh because of the really high density. They take lots of abuse and do cutting mat things well like all of the other cutting mats I have ever had. These are printed on both sides so they do squares well on the normal side and help you when doing non-square things on the other side. You cannot go wrong with these. Having extras allows your friends to travel light when they come over for a craftathon. The only problem you will have with these is keeping these from growing legs and ending up at your loved one's house.Recommended!

Full disclosure: I am not using these EFOK Self-Healing Cutting Mats (12" x 18") for cutting, so I cannot comment on the self-healing property of the mats.I am using these mats for projects and crafts, as well as LEGOs and puzzles. Basically, anywhere I need to protect my work surface. They are firm, yet flexible, and have a good weight and thickness to them. There are a variety of printed angles, shapes and measurements on both sides. The measurements are both imperial and metric.I find the 12†x 18†size to be ideal for my use. It’s approximately the size of a dining placement.Overall, I am really happy with these EFOK mats, and I am glad I ordered them.

I really like this cutting mat a lot. The overall design is great, with a clear grid pattern, numbered measurements, and angle guides that make detailed cuts and design work much easier. The mat is also a great size, large enough to be effective and versatile for various crafting needs. I’ve used a scalpel blade on it multiple times, and it truly self-heals well, to the point where I could barely even notice where I had cut. It’s durable, reliable, and perfect for any DIY project or scrapbooking work. Protects your surfaces while also giving you plenty of detailed measurement work. Highly recommended!

This double sided self healing cutting mat is exactly what I needed. Whether you are sewing or doing any other crafts, this mat is super handy. Each side has measurements and is able to be cut upon. I am generally using Xacto blades for my projects and the mat has held up and actually does "self heal." This mat works for me and I think is a great deal at this price point.

I've needed one of these mats for ages, and now that I have it I'm not sure how I lived without it for so long.Even though the mat I got was not one of the bigger ones, it's perfect for table-top cutting jobs. I cut circles out of paper for a button-making project and was delighted that even the super sharp circle cutter blade did not damage the mat. Even immediately cutting I had to search for the slash mark -- it was nearly gone.Thick, sturdy, and it protected my precious kitchen table. Now I just need a BIG one for sewing!
