Perfect for removing and installing my fifth wheel hitch using my tractor or chain hoist. Item is small enough to leave in my truck. I’d recommend getting a shackle if your using a larger change though because the eyelet is to small for bigger chains

If you run a 5th wheel, you know that removing your bed-mounted hardware can be a pain in the back. This device SHOULD make it easier to remove and set with a good lifting device. Fork lift, chain hoist, skid steer, tractor, engine life....all should make it easier to remove provided you have a chain and hook capable of carrying the weight. Always make sure your weight is distributed as evenly as possible before going into full lift. If this works at all, it should make life a lot easier.

This fifth wheel lifting jig slips into the kingpin slot easily and is held firmly in place. All you need is a heavy-duty chain and hook to grab it and lift. We are able to use either a pulley from the garage rafters or a skidsteer. It’s a simple, fool-proof design and can save your back as well as scraped knuckles and other aggravation. Where was this 50 years ago when I had to help my dad lift the fifth wheel out of our 1972 pickup?!?!?

I needed some way to get my sliding 5th wheel hitch out of the bed of my truck. This hook when clamped into the hitch lets me pick up the hitch and lower it out of the bed of the truck.
