The plastic on these if very stiff- not supple as you might expect so as not to potentially damage the wire(s) that you pass through it. That is to say, that the 'teeth' are very stiff as well as being sharp; which means that as you pass a wire up through it, causing the teeth to press up as well, that it has a tendency to 'bite down' if you attempt to pull a wire back down the opposite direction. I've attempted to weaken the teeth by pushing a marker through it in both directions, hoping ot soften the plastic up, but that doesn't appear to work.What I would say is that if you are expecting these to simplify wire management, I would contend that it doesn't because of the care the you have to take to ensure that the teeth of the grommet don't damage the wire when you will invariably have to remove the wire you installed. They are definitely a bit more on the 'heavy clamp' side of things vs a soft hold. Beware.
