I cannot review this for its original designed plumbing purpose, as I have not used it in that way. I bought it to hang a macramé decoration on the balcony of our condo unit without drilling a hole. The building is clad with panels that have 3/4" joint gaps and this neatly fits the gap and tightens to enough security to hang the decorative item for the wife without any disallowed modification to the surface. Wife happy and Owners Association not a problem.
