I’m retrofitting cruise control on my early 1980’s Audi 4000 using factory parts. It operates the throttle valve via a vacuum pump and a vacuum actuator, controlled by an electronic control unit. The system specifies a 5mm ID & 10mm OD hose as the vacuum line between the vacuum pump, the vacuum actuator, and the brake & clutch pedal vent valves. The Audi factory hose for this purpose is pricey & now hard to find, and the 3/16†ID & 7/32†ID hoses I tried from the local auto parts stores were too tight, and the 1/4†ID hose was too loose. The 5.5mm ID of this Alonegoer fuel hose turned out to be an ideal fit, it sealed very well on the pump, actuator & pedal valve vacuum ports, as well as the T-pieces in the line. It’s flexible enough to route around easily, yet stiff enough not to collapse under vacuum. Since it’s intended to be a fuel hose, i expect it to be even more durable as a vacuum hose. Last but not least, it’s much easier, cheaper & quicker to get than the factory hose. I’m happy with how it worked out!

Just like the stuff that come factory on Japanese bikes… it will harden over time but it takes a while.
