Your cart is empty. The 5mm flat piranha led is also known as the superflux led as well. This style led is extremely popular in sign lighting, not saying that it is the only option though. You definitely can't go wrong with it. It is also used in flood light applications. A couple other uses are brake lights, turn lights, etc.... The 5mm red flat piranha LED is sure to be a good choice.Despite the specifications of these lights, they put out an enormous amount of light and are very popular.

Double check before using! I purchased 100 each of Red, Green, and Blue for a project. I had a helper (non-technical) test them on an LED Tester as we put the boards together; a cluster of 3 Red, 3 Green, and 3 Blue.I finished soldering the first board and connected it to the controller to test it. All of the LED'S except the red light. I thought I had a bad channel on the controller, so I swapped the red and blue channels; The reds still didn't work. Checked each of the LED'S in circuit. All of the red LED'S metered backwards! My helper didn't mention to me that the red LED's had to be put in the tester "upside down" to work. Unsoldering these are a pain.PROS:Super BrightEven Brightness (so far, using 256 steps)Good ConstructionCONS:Wrong Polarity (upside down)Pin Length Is A Little Shorter Then The Matching Green & Blue LED'sI did not attempt to contact the seller, so I'm not upset with them. I had to get this project done so I just marked the bag and continued.Seller Notes:Quick Shipping.Packaged fairly well in labeled "zip lock bags".

Check the polarity. Ordered 100 of these and all of them had the wrong polarity..... check them before you install them in your project.
