For me this is a perfect telescope. It is small, folds up nicely, has a lovely box that it fits in and it works for me. I live within viewing distance of a large hill in central Arizona. Binoculars are bulky. With the 6" telescope it is easy to check the hill for elk, flying birds and whatever appears outside.

I bought this as a prop , for a display . I would have been happy with it for that purpose alone , had it been made of plastic . But DANG ! it really works as a small spyglass ...you won't see for long distances , but it can entertain a child. Oh , and it's made of metal , and the box that it comes in , is pretty damn nice as well . Much more than I expected .

gave one each to my grandson and granddaughter for Christmas. they were both delighted. The optics are okay, the real value is in the shiny barrel and the neat storage box.

Box is well made and cute, brass looks good, but the front lens fell out onto the driveway as soon as I extended the telescope.Luckily I was standing next to the garbage can when it happenedBut at least I have a $1 box to stick rings or something in

Ordered this for my 3 y/o grandson who's been really into pirates and spyglasses as of late. He loved it! He puts it into the box, takes it out, extends the spyglass and looks at something with it, puts it back in the box and then does it all over again. Over and over, lol. This was one of the things he played with the most on Christmas day! As has been stated, it is pretty small, but it's just the right size for smaller hands to handle. The metal construction of the spyglass and the wooden box make it totally worth the money. It does magnify objects to some degree also. For instance, you can look at the tv and it will make the image larger to you; it just doesn't magnify from a long distance.

I think this is super cute for a child. I don't know where else you could get something like this for this price. I am very pleased.

A little expensive, but a must and great quality for a keepsake for our grandchildren who attended “Camp Memaw and Grandaddy a la Pirates†this past summer!
