About this item

  • Sometimes you need to have your work surface just right for your projects. Whether you’re a woodworker, metal worker or hobbyist, when you need a flat work surface you simply just need it. Finding an economical tool to check for flatness used to be quite the challenge. Not anymore!
  • Introducing the lightweight and easy to use Fulton Aluminum straight edge. Use the straight edge to properly check for flatness, so you can see if your work surface has any gaps, pits or any type of undulation that may catch, hook or slow down your material while feeding it through a blade, cutter or simply while working.
  • The Aluminum Straight Edge is that tool and it is accurate to exacting tolerances which makes it perfect for checking wet stones, jointers, planers, power tools, general machinery, table tops, counter tops and more for flatness. Works exceptionally well where there is a seam to make sure both sides are absolutely even.

Works with Machinery

One of the most common uses for straight edges is on larger machinery. Large machinery usually needs to be assembled and therefore needs to be checked for straightness and flatness. Over time, machines need to also be adjusted and checked again. Thats where these handy straight edges come in real handy.

Great value, good quality, perfectly straight, many uses. Very accurate and has to be as I use them to check small engine heads!

Received well packaged; all three wrapped in packing material, with end caps and placed in a tube with end caps. Accurate/flat enough for the garage/home shop environment. One bar had a small nick on the end, under the end cap; factory issue, not shipping issue. Overall great value for the money!

They came very securely wrapped and undamaged. Opened one to examine, feels sturdy, but have not used yet for the purpose I bought them.

These came packaged in such a way that even Amazon couldn't damage them during shipping. I was expecting them to be heavier, but that's a trivial concern since they are practically dead flat. My use case is for cylinder head and block measurements.

Very useful bars, dead flat per my cheap surface plate so that's as much as I can ask for in my shop. The edges are REALLY sharp. I'm sure there's a reason they weren't broken, but I don't know it. When I say sharp, think "cut my finger," levels of sharp.Either way, they should be handled with respect anyways as they are a reference surface and shouldn't be dropped, banged, etc. If you cut yourself like I did, you'll only do it once.I wish the bars themselves were just a bit taller, is my only complaint. They're fine, and I know it would mean larger barstock aka prices, but they're maybe 1/2" under what I'd prefer. No points off for that, though. The included hanging hole is great, and it's probably the best way to store these. On a shelf they tend to fall over and get buried, in my experience.

ES UNA EXCELENTE REFERENCIA PARA VALORAR SUPERFICIES PLANAS. LOS TAMAÑOS SON BUNEOS POR EL PRECIO, SIN DUDA SI HUBIERA UNA MEDIDA MAS GRANDE LA COMPRARIA.

Excellent service. Delivered to UK in only 7 days. Very well packaged in robust cardboard tube inside another cardboard box. Quality is first class - very well machined, perfectly flat, no sharp edges, plastic protective caps on each end to reduce the chance of damage. Overall, a high quality product at a very reasonable price (+free shipping with Prime). Couldn't be happier, highly recommended.
