I own one insulated tip up, otherwise this is my first tip insulation I've used. I will run 7-14 tip ups in an ice fishing trip (allowed 7 lines a person in NY). Finally got to use these this weekend in single digit to teens, and they make a huge difference.Comparing side by side vs uninsulated, the uninsulated would have a hard skim coat that had to be broke to get the tip up out. While the insulated one was skimmed, but very weak and the tip up easily pulled out.Which was really nice when trying to get to the line when you get a flag.These are also very easy to slide on and off. Even when you have a flag, you can pull it off without picking up the up the tip up. They are also nice and slim for easy packing. As the title says these are worth every penny, and I'm certainly buying another set.

Very thin and smell quite chemically, but they will keep snow out of your hole. So honestly, the big thick ones are in my opinion no different because when it's 10°f it still freezes, but they both keep snow out. The snow freezes in the hole it becomes much thicker quicker than if you keep it separated from the water. So the thickness is super thin, but it's kinda a space saver in my opinion. Now the price is a bit much I'd feel like a great deal would be closer to 15$
