Heavy duty-- better than expected, built like an heirloom. I got this style of metal mold because in the future I plan to get a roller and do some wire or cutting and welding, but right now I am carving wax and casting. I have read both the "coat with flux" and the "grind the paint and bumps out" advocates (yeah team!), and I am sure each artist has their own preferences. I have not previously heard of PMC supplies, and am going to do some commerce with them in the future. Love it!!!!

Haven’t used it yet. But, it is heavy and exactly the size I expected. Very heavy and solid. Good price and fast delivery. Thanks.

Just like alot of the other reviews say, this thing is painted. Makes absolutely zero sense. It is also a terribly rough cast. You will definitely want to burn off all the paint, and then hit it with a grinder or wire wheel to clean up the cast. Other than that, it is definitely cast iron, and it is heavy. Will work well after it's cleaned up.

I am an artisan jeweler and do a ton of wire wrapping so I have a lot of scrap metal. This worked great to create my own sterling silver wire ingot, and I love the fact I have the option of creating sheet metal on the opposite side of the wire side. It is very well designed and works great. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to recycle or re-use your scrap wire and sheet metals. Also I'm not sure if this is necessary, but due to the fact that it's cast iron, I heated it up in the oven set at 350 for about 30 mins prior to the first use to season it.

Exactly as described, one of my favorite companies to purchase from.

As a previous buyer noted, this mold has been painted with high heat paint and there are a lot of bumps, defects and it will produce lumpy, nonuniform castings. I tried to burn the paint off with a torch for an hour and wasn't successful. Once I realized that this would not work, I took stone grinding bits and a Dremel tool to clean up the mold, which took an hour and a half to get it to a clean enough state to cast with. It is a poor casting mold, so be prepared to spend time to make it useful. You get what you pay for...
