Worked as expected. Quality seems fine. New to me so not sure of durability but just sits on desktop so what can go wrong? Relieved to find cable that worked with old Sony 8mm camera and old iMac being used to store video and make DVDs.

Once I had the iLink port on my Sony DV camcorder fixed, this cable allowed me to transfer the video on tapes to my MacBook Air. It only has USB-C ports. Connecting Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter to Thunderbolt 2 to FireWire adapter allowed use of this cable. It still takes real time to transfer the video but hopefully it is more future proofed stored digitally on a hard drive.

I connected my old Sony camcorder to my Mac (using an additional adapter I also got from Amazon) and installed lifeFlix on the Mac. It pulled the old videos right over with no problem.
