Most foam installations are a bit of an eyesore, but this makes it look like it was meant to be. These took a bit of time to arrive (about 2 weeks), but they really help make the many pipes we have exposed (well water and rain recovery) look much better and the better cut foam allows the pipes to be better protected from the elements. Very happy with these...they nest easily, and store in a relatively small space. We always try to ensure our dogs are getting good nutrition and minimal fillers. This seems to hit that spot. It appears to be made in the USA, as well...which is important to me, as foods from China have injured or killed many animals. Dogs have had no real change in bowel movements and seem to be absorbing the food well. This seems to be a premium product at a bit of a premium price. If I have any issues moving forward, I will update my review, but for now, considering price-point...it's a definitely recommend.

So a perfect cut for a 90 degree turn looks great. But I suspect there probably are some hints and perhaps alternate uses for these which I might yet discover. But they include no such thoughts. In fact they included nothing at all In the sense of directions/hints - no paper work. . They should include something, maybe a little better than a zip lock bag, to store them in. Or at least a tough plastic bag. Also the range is strange for most usage. The lowest ones I believe would be used for 1/2" OD insulation and therefore would cover and a 1/4" inch line. I've never insulated a quarter inch line in my life. But at the big end of the range It goes only to 1-1/2" OD insulation. And of course we use bigger than that.

I ordered the Cverny Foam Pipe Cutter jigs to help me insulate the PEX plumbing that I recently installed. My project used 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch and 1-inch diameter PEX pipes. Of the six jigs provided, I could only use two, and even those provided marginal results.Based on the product description, I knew that I was taking a chance since all the sizes were listed in metric dimensions. Of the three sizes of foam pipe insulation that I bought from a “big box†store, only two were usable with the Cverny jigs.Hopefully, my photo shows that the 1-inch foam insulation is too large for the largest jig. The two smaller jigs can hold the 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch foam insulation but the fit is loose. Perhaps the products in other countries will fit better than U.S. products. Regardless, I have never seen foam insulation for pipe smaller than 1/2-inch so I have no idea what one would do with three of those jigs. While a razor blade is the typical tool for cutting foam pipe insulation, it doesn’t work as well with these plastic jigs for obvious reasons. Also, a sharp blade tends to “drift†when using the jig as you scribe around the cut since there is no reference surface for keeping the cut square to the foam. I tried other cutting tools with longer blades to avoid this drifting which included a coping saw, a hack saw and an insulation saw. The results were mixed but the “dust†stuck to the jigs due to static electricity and was very annoying. In my opinion, the best use of these jigs would be use them to mark the pipe insulation with a paint pen or other marker that can be seen on the foam and then use large scissors to cut along the line. That approach gave me the cleanest cut which made mating the angles much easier and resulted in a better looking result.I gave the Cverny Foam Pipe Cutter jigs three stars for having a creative idea even if it didn’t work as well as I was expecting. Depending on where you live and the products that you use for insulating pipe, your experience will probably be different than mine.

You can cut straight ends, beveled ends, or mating /folding 45s. The jig is pretty cool in what cuts can be made. There is a centering line on the outer part of the tube. Be very aware of the tape on the tube so that the cuts fold properly and can be stuck together seamlessly. Makes foam piping look very professional. There are 6 cutter jigs in the set.

These tools really make the job easier and work well for installing pipe insulation. While they aren’t super durable, they get the job done efficiently. A good option for light to moderate use.
