I set this up on my Ring HD doorbell that I bought in Dec, the day before yesterday. My doorbell needed to be charged like once a week, all my Ring cameras did (I also have everything on my Ring camera settings as using the most battery). The constant having to charge gets annoying and I don't have time for all of that with one camera, let alone multiple cameras. I got solar panels for my other cameras but noticed Ring doesn't have a solar panel for their doorbells. Well, they do, but it's been out of stock for months now. I thought about getting the doorbell cord that plugs into the wall since they're like $14, but would rather use a solar panel since the closest plug it about 11 ft away and across doorways and floors. I was looking for a solar panel for a while (stars/ratings will make you think something is wrong). Once I saw that doorbell hit 20%, I knew I was about to run out of time. I bought this solar panel, set it up, then strung the cord up the side and over the top of my door and out from under the portico so it could get sun. I was very worried this cord would not be long enough. Thankfully, it was. I needed every bit of the 9.6 ft (I think thats how long it is). The cord is probably the only con. So if you have a portico or any obstruction to the sun, make sure 9 ft is enough. I wanted to see how well this solar panel would do charging, so I never charged my doorbell. It was 17% when I put the solar panel up. Today it is at 71%. These batteries in the Ring cameras take like 10 hours to charge for me. They don't charge quickly by any means. I honestly thought I was going to have to charge the battery 1 more time like I had to with the Stick Up Cam when I put the Ring solar panel up. Well, I didn't. I'm glad I didn't waste my time buying this. This solar panel has done all the charging I could need. By tomorrow, it'll probably be 100%. I'm very happy with my purchase. I no longer have to worry about recharging these Ring batteries weekly. They sent everything I could possibly of needed in the box. I just unscrewed the the 2 screws on the back of the doorbell, attached the wires under each screw and retightened the screws over top of them to hold them in place. They sent the screws to drill the base in (which is very steady), and they sent plenty of the nails with cord holders to keep your cord neat and in place. The solar panel was like 3 pieces to put together. I like how I can move the solar panel in almost any direction I want, once mounted. I would definitely recommend this solar panel. I wish they had it in black so it could match all my cameras and other solar panels, but, it's ok because it works perfectly. Hopefully, it continues working as well as it is now.

This was working well until the weather turned cold. We have had several days when the temperature was 14-15 degrees overnight and the ring doorbell quit charging. Had to bring the doorbell inside and plug it into a charging cable to get it to charge. I have only had this solar charger since October 16th. This is installed on a Ring Video Doorbell1080p HD. Very disappointed and would not recommend this charger.

Worked great with my Ring Doorbell. I haven't had to change the battery since I installed this little device. My battery is always charged every with moderate to heavy use.

Using for ring doorbell which is battery powered and needed to be recharged about every month. Was hesitant at first based on some negative reviews , but gave it a go. Absolutely no issues now after 3 months.Buyers keep in mind that it doesn’t try to charge until battery goes under 90%. Also on not so sunny days you might not see it charging, but once it gets some sun, it completely charges. If you live in a HOA, be sure to clear it with them. Neighbor bought wrong color and didn’t get approved and ended up getting fined.Recommend 100%

Here’s the short end of the issue. This panel will NOT charge the RING 2 doorbell! Why? Because the ring doorbell hard wire must be 6/12 volts AC! This solar panel only provides 5V DC! Now if you’re crafty and understand electrical/electronics you can simply solder on a mini USB connector to the end of wire on solar panel, also make sure you know what positive and negative and then plug it in where you charge your Ring doorbell… Then the solar panel works GREAT!Good luck, they do sell other mini panels where they come with the correct mini usb plug on the wire already…Good luck, hope this helps.

UPDATE: to make matters worse, this product actually managed to kill my battery so I am unable to plug the device in to charge. Now I'm stuck with buying a new Ring doorbell.Like many of the other reviews, I connected this to a Ring doorbell (2nd Gen) and AT BEST it will slow battery drain but it does not charge the battery.

Very easy to set up and use. So far it is keeping my doorbell camera charged nicely.
