This was easy to put together, but it is much easier if you have at least 2 people for the job. Some of the lips of the shelf were bent and needed to be bent back into shape, but it was easy to do. Even with as easy as it was, it is still a very sturdy and reliable shelf. We are using it for our canned goods and jarred foods, but it can easily hold a large variety of items. It has definitely helped keep things organized and it looks great in the space. It is very versatile and can be used in any room in the house as well as the garage.Overall, I am happy with it and would recommend it to others.

This shelving unit came packed pretty well to protect it from damage; however there was one shelf which had somehow gotten a bit crinkled on the edge. It wasn't anything I couldn't straighten out by hand though so no harm no foul. A pair of stretchy white gloves are included and I strongly recommend wearing them during assembly to lessen the chance of cutting yourself on any metal edges.Assembly was quite easy - once I got the idea of how it goes together I didn't even need the instructions, which by the way are adequate. After I had completed assembling the shelving unit I found that I would prefer some different shelf spacing, and was able to remove a couple of shelves and move the perimeter supports to where I wanted them. (You can see that I changed the spacing in the photos.)This shelving gets its strength from clever design using lightweight materials to maximum advantage. I was surprised that despite the thin-ness of the sheet metal used, the shelves seemed quite sturdy. They are rated to hold a lot more than I have on them at present.I've had different kinds of shelving units in the past and I would say this is not quite commercial duty or heavy-duty; I don't know if it would stand up to abuse of having heavy things dumped repeatedly on the shelves. For most people including myself I think it's more than up to the task of helping us keep our things stored neatly. I'm glad to have this shelving unit in my garage and might get another! The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because it does say 'heavy duty' and I just don't think it's got the durability of the commercial shelving units I've had, which are indeed 'heavy duty'. But don't let that deter you - chances are this will do the job for you just fine and it's so easy to build as a bonus.

I just now got to set up the shelves so of course I can’t return them, but the quality is so cheap. It’s flimsy and easily bends. Make sure you shell out the little extra to get the higher quality. Hard to get a picture that really shows it but very disappointed in this purchase.

I didn't have any problems putting this together. Everything is a slide-in or a pop-in, no tools needed. It seems pretty sturdy for the most part, but I won't be using the shelves to pull or move the unit around as that will pull the shelf off and decrease its overall stability.I like the fact that these shelves are modular, that they can be expanded and built up with additional shelving units. As of right now the shelves look they will hold a lot of weight. If it turns out that something is wrong with it or it goes wrong, I'll update my review.

When I unpacked the pieces of this rack, I was pretty skeptical it'd make such a rigid shelf. Especially since there isn't a single nut, bolt or screw anywhere. The entire rack sets up in about 1 hour. Be very diligent the pieces fully seat together during assembly. Once built, the shelf is robust and sturdy. I'm not sure if each shelf can actually hold the amount of weight they claim. What I can say is you can easily pack every square inch of each shelf with gallon water jugs with no worries at all.I'm very impressed.

This set of metal garage shelves has its good and not-so-good points.Good: Generously sized at 6’ tall x 40†wide, these 18“ deep shelves offer a lot of storage space. Assembly is super-easy, with no tools required, and can be completed in about 15 minutes. It can be assembled as one 6’ unit, or two 3’ units side by side.Not-so good: This unit is constructed of very thin gauge metal that relies on bends and corrugations for its strength. The paint is thin and easily scratched, and is poorly-applied on inner surfaces and corners, allowing corrosion to quickly start in those areas. The shelves themselves are not attached, but just rest on the supports. In fact, by using keyhole assembly, the whole shelf unit relies on gravity to stay together. It’s best to assemble it at its point of use, as it’s difficult to move once it’s assembled. If you do move it, grasp it only by the verticals. Also, the plastic feet tend to fall out.I do have doubts about its claimed 2,000# capacity. In summary, I would not be likely to order this again.
