I took a chance on these. I've seen the information on the 3M spiral abrasive discs and I am acutely aware of the price of that brand. I use a lot of 3M products and am sure they would be outstanding. The price of this set, however, was low enough to cause me to take a chance. I am a hobby machinist and enjoy restoring old hand tools, chandeliers, jewelry, etc. There are many times I need to finish hard to reach places that just can't be done safely on a grinder with a 3M disc or buffing wheel. I read a few negative reviews about how these either do nothing or fall apart. That is not true and unfair. I have been truly impressed with both the quality of the results and the durability of these spiral discs.This set shows up in a tiny plastic bad and there is no indication about which color is which grit. Unlike the expensive 3M discs, there is no quick connect. These need to be installed on standard arbors with screws and washers, which are included in the kit. It's worth getting over these issues, unless you're wealthy enough to splurge on the 3M stuff.The grits range from 80 to 100 and the product page indicates which color is which. You should note that and organize the discs. If you do that, you will be delighted with how well these perform. I have been using many different grits for the last several hours and have not seen a single strand break or fall off. The finish closely matches the grit specifications. I can take small parts from rough casting or pitted metal to nearly gloss finish by stepping through the grits. Brinding the part to full gloww only requires some hand polishing if it's even necessary.I didn't expect anywhere near as much from these as I experienced. Even if I do splurge on 3M versions, I will likely count on these for most of the hard work. They are a bargain based on my own actual experience.I have a dental rotary tool capable of 50,000 rpm. I have not had the courage to take these above 10,000 rpm, although they are rated for 30,000. 10,000 has already produced admirable results. They are well balanced and the abrasive is evenly distributed throughout the material. Even after hours of use, I cannot see any difference in diameter between the used and new discs other than some very slight rounding of the very end tips.I can highly recommend this set as an absolute bargain that performs far better than I expected.

I use these to clean up problem areas in wood carvings. The key to making the disks last is to run a lower RPM, It takes a little longer, but the disks last. I use them on basswood. I haven't tried any harder woods eg. Maple or Oak. The 220 grit is just right for cleaning up little oopsies in the paint.

Trying to figure out which compound it is it’s impossible should be marked on the brush if it’s 1201 2600 whatever it is should be marked on the box or on the brushes. It’s hard to tell what color what they are not 3M polishing wheels they’re very stiff which is not too bad, try to match them up to the colors on the Internet hard to do can’t tell which is which like I said, took a month and a half to get them. I guess the boat takes a long time to get here.

These work well and are inexpensive. This being said, the arms are stiffer than 3M because they are thicker. If you are working with jewelry and used to working with 3M, start with a lighter tough to avoid removing too much material. These are also a larger diameter than what I normally use... it can be handy for reaching into deep areas, and they will wear down. It's a good idea to slow down the flex shaft, until the wheel is about .75 in. It's also tougher to get into tight areas compared to 3M, so it's a good idea to keep some of those in hand if you do fine work.

i purchased these to use on my jewelry work. for the price I got a lot of pieces and much cheaper than buying from other sources. they work great and I would definitely buy them again.

These have helped me a lot on my projects. They can get in the cracks and areas that are hard to sand. They are plastic so don't expect them to last forever, especially at high rpm's. I use low speed with them and they last better. They filled a tool gap I had and I will most likely buy more when I run out of these. They are too handy to not keep some around.

I bought this polishing wheels from this store in the past, bought them again when starting to need some more and got this sort of cheap unboxed low quality version. It seems like we have false advertising at Amazon, so let's rely on reviews .Keep checking for the product somewhere else, what you will get is not what you think you are buying and if not satisfied you might end losing time to ship it back or keeping some low quality product that can as minimum be a headache .

They work fine. It’s a minor complaint, but it would have been really nice if they had included a guide or some kind of label to say what grit the different discs are. I had to search up the listing on here and find the picture that listed the various grits.
