I purchased these silicone 8 pack cast iron handle and lid handle covers for my husband who (obviously) cooks with cast iron! This multi pack is useful when using multiple pots/pans when cooking. They clean easily- just takes a quick scrub or rinse- the pot lid handle cover has grooves that require more finesse to clean. (I have been lazy and cleaned them in my dishwasher.) The silicone handle slips comfortably over my name brand cast iron, and do not tend to slip around while in use. The pot lid handle covers fit well over looped handles that are thinner in diameter. However, they do not fit so well with some of my other lid handles which are more broad and flat. I am still able to stretch the covers over the handles, but it isn't as ergonomic and does not stay out as well when done this way. For the quality and price, however, I can overlook this. The pot lid handle is also great to use on the front stabilizing helper handle some larger pans have too! I imagine it would work with creamic pot handles, but I have none to test!

Handles heat very well, even with cast-iron cookware. I recommend them.

These are very nice for our cast iron pans. They fit nicely on the 12 inch skillet perfectly, however for the 8 inch and round skillet thy are too big and twist around the handle. Our cast iron is the Lodge pre-seasoned set that has a 8 and 12 inch skillet and a just shy of 9 in round griddle. These do get warm, but not so much that you cannot pick up the pan. It is the ability of these to twist around the handle that makes it the most dangerous and something to be aware of when purchasing. The assist cover fits perfectly and we have no issue with those. Since we know this we are very careful when lifting up the smaller pans with them attached. This would be the perfect set if there was a variety of sizes for the handle version.

I bought these for some metal handle pans that were to warm to pick up at times. These definitely keep me from burning my hands and the textured grip on it helps out too.

Helps with those hot handles, but cast iron is very heavy. The handles get very hot and the rubber/platic tends to expand and slips off. Safe to hold NOT to lift while hot
