I have a timber-frame home. One of the vertical beams has a small space between it and the wall where cold air comes in. I've tried some other things to stop the cold air, but nothing really worked. I put some lighter foam in that space, but the cats ripped it out.I uncoiled this foam wrap and stuffed it inside that space which cut off the cold air and helped to insulate the house better (see photos). It fits pretty tightly so the cats can't do anything with it. Because of how tightly it fits, they are uninterested in trying to claw it out of there. This was probably not a conventional way to use this, but it has many uses and I found another one. This foam wrap is pretty versatile. You can be creative to find the best use for your situation.

The package includes 8 pieces, each approximately 15.75" long, 1.5" wide, interior space 1", .5" thick. The way it's cut actually makes it a little more convenient to use than similar pipe foam that's just cut in a straight line, in that these can go around bends, and around pipe obstacles (handles, diverters, mountings, etc). These are also good on hospital bed rails, walker legs, handrails, and more.

I had ordered a bed frame here on Amazon that is 12in tall. It is designed to maximize storage space underneath the bed and the legs are mounted straight down from the outside edges. Fortunately, I had on flip flops that hit one of the legs straight on, and saved a toe or two from a painful ending. I immediately started my search for some sort of padding and found this 8 pack of spiral cut pipe insulation. The inner diameter of 0.8in with an outer diameter of 2in, is perfect for my application and use as a toe(s) saver. I only needed 6in per leg and since they are each 15.7in in length, I still have 4 left for wrapping things like outdoor pipes, any type of handrails or wherever insulation is needed for traction or safety. Life is Good!! These Spiral Cut Pipe Insulation Tubes Rate Extremely High on the Claydog Approval Scale!! Enough Said, Wrench Drop!! Thanks for your time, Claydog

Budget-Friendly: With 8 pipe wraps in a pack, this offers an inexpensive way to insulate multiple pipes.Easy to Use: The foam wrap is likely easy to cut and apply to pipes without any special tools.Multipurpose: These pipe wraps can be used for various purposes, such as insulating pipes to prevent heat loss or condensation, or protecting pipes from scratches or dents during installation or maintenance.Black Color: The black color might provide a sleek and finished look compared to uninsulated pipes.Unknown Insulation Efficiency: The R-value (a measure of a material's ability to resist heat flow) is not specified, making it difficult to gauge its effectiveness for thermal insulation. If you have basic insulation or protection needs for your pipes, and budget is a top priority, the MAINTEEE 8 Pcs Pipe Wrap could be a good option. But, if thermal efficiency, heavy-duty protection, or specific pipe sizes are crucial, consider exploring alternative insulation materials or contacting the seller for more information about the R-value and foam thickness.

Short lengths of foam insulation, as described, worked perfectly well for what I needed, no complaints about the product itself. However, the price is most likely MUCH higher than you'd pay if you bought it locally at a home improvement store.
