So I’ve tired several cork grease brands but have yet to find one I like until now. Normally when I’d apply cork grease they tend to glob up or become runny and make a mess. While looking for a reasonable solution without breaking the bank I found these and they are holding up just fine. I switch between an alto and Bari so I tend to use up grease quite quickly. This pack brought 8 sticks for a reasonable price while not lacking on quality. Since I’ve been using this brand I’ve noticed clean corks and smooth mounting and dismounting of necks and mouthpieces without buildup. I’d definitely buy these again soon.

This box with cork grease is great for schools or orchestras. For a single player it is nearly a live time of grease. The actual length of the grease is 3.5 cm while the cylinder is around 6 cm. I think that is a normal ratio. The grease is odorless (for my nose). But again, the product information on the page is confusing "Lubricating Tube Cleaning Care Product for.." I don't see any cleaning involved. If you need only one or to tube of grease a year you don't should by this box. I don't know if it will dry or start smelling over the time.

In this house, we do music. Lots of it. Between myself, my husband, and our daughter, we play 16 instruments. Clarinets, oboes, bassoons, and saxophones are our main ones. That takes a lot of cork grease. This worked well on all of the above, and it didn't break the bank. I had no trouble with the packaging, the tube fed well as I used it, and the smell was not overwhelming like it used to be in the old days. I would recommend this to a friend.

I like the tube it comes in. When I was in the school band, I just had a little square box. You still get it on your fingers, even this way. But, it is less messy. You can rub it on the cork like chapstick, but you still have to rub it into the pores of the cork. It is good quality grease. Applies well, and lubricates the instrument pieces as you put them together, (clarinet.) I like it and will buy it again. Thanks very much. PW

As a band teacher, I go through a lot of cork grease, and none of the local music shops sell it in bulk packs, so it gets a bit pricey, even at only a couple dollars per tube. That's why I'm glad for bulk packs like this. I can include a tube with every school-owned instrument that goes out so there's no excuses for kids if they don't regularly apply cork grease and cause an expensive repair (minimum shop charge in our area is $100).This is slightly softer than the standard, but it works just fine and meets the need at a much better price! If you're not a band teacher, this is a lifetime supply (or split it with 7 other classmates!)

Overall I think this product only really works for a band director or someone else who needs a ton of cork grease. In 20ish years of playing I've always just used cork grease that I picked next to the cash register at the music store, and that is what I'm basing my comparison on. At room temperature this grease has a consistency closer to vaseline or a lip balm that has sat in the sun. It was much more mushy than what I usually use and because of that it was messy to apply. And a very minor point but my "cash register" grease usually is lightly scented, while these were completely odorless.Overall the grease does work, but it wasn't my favorite to use. And now I'm staring down 8 tubes of it...

My son plays saxophone (tenor, alto, baritone) in his high school band. The school district instruments see a lot of usage over the years, but this is one element that is often overlooked. He was eager to get this applied and once he did, what a difference! He's even shared some of the other tubes with his band mates. It's funny that such a little tube can make such an impact on both assembly and disassembly. If you've got an instrument with cork, don't hesitate to grab this and throw a tube into the case.
