Pad Liquidators sent a new 5x8 Durahold Plus rug pad and the price was excellent, and the shipping was fast. The pad has felt on one side and rubber on the other. NO CHEMICAL SMELL! Hooray!! The only problem I had was the felt would stick too well to the rug, so adjusting it was a BEAR, especially as I was doing this alone. I finally figured it out.(NOTE: Be careful not to rub up against the felt side. I accidentally rubbed the top of my forearm hard against the felt and ended up with an abrasion that bled.)1) Turn the rug over and gaffer-tape it to the floor (I did 4 corners and the middles of the long edges.) As you tape it down, STRETCH the rug out and then apply the tape. My rug had been stored on end and was compressed.2) Put the rug pad on the rug with the rubber down. Adjust & center it to get a sense of how much room you need to have on each edge.3) Turn the pad over so the rubber is up. Roll it up as well as you can. Then line it up with one short end of the rug, and unroll it, removing the gaffer tape from the rug, and making sure that it's relatively parallel to one of the long edges of the rug. With a bit of work, you can get it to unroll onto the rug so it's centered edge-to-edge. Walk all over the pad and rug to make sure it's sticking as well as possible.4) Turn the whole affair over and put it where you want.The rug pad was just a touch smaller than 5x8--the perfect size. It is thick, soft, and insulating. It's very comfortable to walk on. The rug does not slip at all. I liked it so much I ordered another one today.

Happy with this product - it does the job well, holds our area rugs in place, no more slipping. Adds the right amount of cushion, comfortable underfoot. I’d recommend it.

This is the best rug pad I’ve ever used. No more flimsy grid mats that slip and move on hardwood floors! This thing stays planted and provides a little padding. I would definitely recommend this rug pad!

Love the pad, but shipping info was not clear and led us to believe it would be here earlier than it was.Bought this pad b/c the rug vendor told us that this was the best in class pad for his product.

I wanted to protect our new Moroccan rug with a high quality rug pad. This pad ticked all the boxes. The rubber layer insures stability over our hardwood floors. The top layer being felt provides a slightly softer feel underfoot. Also, being a solid material, it avoids the issues of typical cell foam pads that leave cell patterns on the hardwood over time and capture dirt between the cells (that's been my experience). I also didn't want anything too thick that might cause a rise along the edges of the rug. At 1/4", this pad provides just the right amount of protection and cushioning without an edge rise. Installation was a breeze using a utility blade and a cutting mat.Highly recommended!

It does just what it says. Busy household with kids and dog. Bought a crazy long cotton/jute runner for the kitchen. 16 feet x 3 feet. The runner was a pretzel by the end of the first day. Slipping and sliding all over the place. I thought buying the runner so didn't have to constantly polish the floors was a dumb purchase. This runner pad was expensive but its cheap at twice the price because it works so well. (Used 3, 3 x 5 pads) Forget those pathetic little plastic mesh things that instantly curl into a ball under your rug. This non-slip pad really works. Bottom of the pad sticks to the floor. Top of the pad sticks to the carpet. Nothing moves, saving my floors and making life much easier for me. I don't have to polish the floors all the time because they're protected by the runner that now stays put. Usually don't write reviews but had to report that this is a really great product. I guess that's why it costs a little more, and is well worth the extra money.
