This is a really, really nice shovel -- the best camping/emergency tool I've found, especially at this price point. Very strong, very light, easy to use, and comes with a nice, secure, sturdy storage pouch. Very impressed.

This was used only one night during my random car camp venture the other night. Honestly, I didn’t really need it just yet, but I used the shovel just to play with it… so I dug myself a little fire pit. For all intents and purposes, the shovel did really well! The hole wasn’t super deep or anything; maybe 4 inches deep. The axe portion of the shovel chopped the smaller/not too thick firewood I needed just fine, although it was a little tricky to hit accurately. I didn’t use the fire starter though, largely because I don’t really know how to use it. But I’ll learn. Eventually.Otherwise, the physical work that you’d need this shovel for definitely accommodates. Two thumbs up on this one!

I own 2 of the real-deal sacred G brand (think popular baby food brand or knife & tool company) Government Issued e-tools. The Flyego e-tool is extremely similar, almost identical cosmetically (from several feet away). In my photos, the Flyego is always on the left or top, the G brand is always on the right or bottom. The easiest way to tell is them apart is that the Flygo has a sharpened edge on one side, where the G brand has a serrated edge on one side. The Flyego is slightly lighter overall, due to slightly thinner steel on the shovel head. The shaft in the Flyego appears to be steel as well, while the G brand is aluminum. The handles and locking collars appear identical (save the G brand logo). The bolts appear to be the same diameter in both, although the G tool uses shoulder bolts where the Flyego has fully threaded bolts. Lastly, both heads are welded to the locking mechanism, vs rivets found in others. I personally prefer welded. The welds are heavier on the G brand, probably due to the slightly heavier metal. I can't tell how the Flyego plastic parts will hold up over time (are they glass filled like the G brand?). They certainly look the same? The Flyego is just as sturdy in-hand. I liked it so much I just ordered another one. I mean, I can get 3 or 4 for what one of the G brands are bringing today!

Very compact, lightweight entrenching tool, hammer, spade. A lot of thought went into the design. Great for gardening, hiking, camping and I keep mine on my saltwater surf fishing cart.PROS:- Super lightweight. Surf fishing, camping and hiking all require a lot of equipment and the lighter the better.- Designed as a multi tool. Obviously shovel but also great for hammering in my rod holders, and the spike is great for climbing.- Thoughtful design of the aerated edge for cutting roots when digging, low impact hammer on the backend and well designed handle is comfortable and sturdy.CONS:None as of yet.
