Be aware that this is just pre-hopped malt syrup, with a packet of brewers yeast and will require additional corn sugar or dry malt to complete. I add 1kg. of corn sugar to bring this one up to a good starting gravity without adding to much malt 'heaviness', which results in ~6% alcohol by volume. I also add some Citra or Warrior hops in the secondary fermenter (called dry hopping) to add extra hop aroma (personal choice). It has become my summer favorite, not to heavy, with a nice creamy mouth feel and just enough hops to make its finish a little drier. If you bottle (like I do) you will also need about 250g - 300g of corn sugar at the end to carbonate in the bottle. I add that to the finished beer after racking and before I bottle in ~40 - 500ml PET bottles. The glass shown is an 'Imperial' pint glass, because 500 ml will not fit into a standard U.S. pint glass.

Had to look it up, but the date on the bottom is when it was canned, not when it expired. Hope it was stored cold as my can is already over 7 months old. Hope this helps others as there are many people thinking this is a use by date.

I tried to brew a beer for under 50 cents per 12 ounce beer. I did add one ounce of cascade hops on my own for one week in the secondary fermenter dry hopping to add a little more hop flavor and aroma. My beer cost me about 49 cents per beer when adding the cost of the ABC kit, added corn sugar and the cascade hops (which costs me only one dollar). The resulting "50 Cent Pale Ale" was delicious! One of my best homebrews yet, despite the low cost.

Ordered the pale ale. Didn’t like how this kit didn’t come with needed sugar but other then that easy to use and it came out tasting good. Would order again.

Thus far these gave been my favorite. The wife limes the wheat. So Im a "repurchase" wheat and pale ale. These are pretty solid kits that abc has.

I purchased this as a birthday present for my son who is an experienced brewer. He said the brewing time was 2 weeks compared to most that take 4 weeks. The finished ale was light and tasted great.
