I don’t know if they redesigned this product since some of these reviews, but the product I received is VERY heavy duty! This is not an amateur or backyard play boomerang!To begin, the boomerang is extremely a solid and very durable hard wood. I did not appreciate how solid this was going to be when I ordered it for my six year old for neighborhood play. Once I received it, I realized I couldn’t give it to him for that purpose because it will do a lot of damage if it hits anything. I was too concerned about cars, windows, and doors. I was also concerned about inadvertently hitting another person, as it could do some damage.My concern was confirmed when I read the instructions and realized it requires 100 YARDS of open space in every direction!! That is a huge amount of space, but it makes sense given how solid it is and how far it can go.All in all, this is a terrific boomerang for serious boomerangers with tons of open space. It is professional quality for sure. But it is not well-suited for those with little space and/or kids who can’t be trusted to avoid houses, cars, and people!

Super, light, fun toy! 9 year old was so excited to be able to use this, (actually we all were... Takes a little getting used to, but instruction book is quite readable and of course there's always youtube. You DO need A LOT of space- we lost it in the puckerbrush only once though! :-/

When we received it it was much smaller than I expected but yet probably the right size for a nine year old still have problems trying to get it to come back to us did come with directions on how to throw we are learning and eventually we'll get it
