I bought this because i needed an eletronic ignition signal for the fuel injection i put on my ford 390.. this does not send a consistent RPM signal and did not work for my application at all. Would probably work good for carburated vehicles. It had a photo eye sensor.

This aint my first rodeo. I've worked on classic fords as a hobbyist for 15 years or so. I bought this to rid me of the points that were always screwed up on my 65 Mustang due to a bad distributor cam.I hate spending unnecessary money, so I bought this instead of a new distributor.Sooo...in the end, it works just fine. I don't see that it really gave me anything though, I don't feel or notice a difference in power, torque or anything else. It does seem to start a bit quicker with this rather than the points.Lastly, the reason 3 stars instead of 5? The directions were incredibly "drama queen." You can easily install these, but the directions make it seem like you're gonna burn a hole through the center of the earth if you don't hold your tongue right while installing them. Directions are unclear and waaayy overboard on the "BE SURE TO.." and capitalizations of WARNINGS!!ALSO: The rotor is bizzare, and I'm pretty sure its a piece of crap. I almost stripped the key out of it because it fits so tight, I had to hammer it down. It's freaking weird. You'd think with all the warnings on the directions, they would've said something about how tight the freaking rotor fits and you'll probably never get it off of there again.I usually LOVE ACCEL stuff, but if you can, you might find something a smidge better than this.HOWEVER: Its still working great, with no problems, so it is doing its job.

install fairly straight forward, did not have to pull distributor. Unfortunately it would intermittently fail, car would not run. Do not buy.get the pertronix instead.

THIS KIT IS SUPER EASY TO INSTALL WITH JUST A SCREWDRIVER. THERE ARE NO ADJUSTMENTS TO BE MADE AND NOTHING ELSE TO BUY. This kit fit like a glove and made the engine run silky smooth unlike the Petronius brand which screwed up the ignition system.

Don't do it. First set installed on my 1966 T-bird failed in about 2 months. Replacement set lasted a few years, but then began to operate erratically. Worst part is that it fails as sudden death; In my cases, I was either at or close to home. Lost all confidence it the system, and carried the stock set of points with me at all times. Went back to the original set-up on the side of the road.
