Length of Accusize EG10-1440 Machinists Precision Wavy Parallel Set

Length

Each parallel is about 4 inches long. As they are made of spring steel, they can be bent during the machining operation to enable more benefits than normal thin parallels.

Accusize EG10-1440 Machinists Precision Wavy Parallel Set in Wooden Box

The parallel set comes with an index wooden box, which makes them easy to collect and organize. The lightweight makes it easy to be shipped. The sizes range from a half-inch to one and a half inches. It provides more agility.

Sizes of Accusize EG10-1440 Machinists Precision Wavy Parallel Set

Sizes

1/2 in, 5/8 in, 3/4 in, 7/8 in, 1 in, 1 1/8 in, 1 1/4 in, 1 3/8 in, and 1 1/2 in

Accusize EG10-1440 Machinists Precision Wavy Parallel Set 1 Holding Thin Workpiece

Thin Parallel

Each parallel is very thin. They are good for machining thin workpieces.

Accusize EG10-1440 Machinists Precision Wavy Parallel Set 2 Single Parallel Works

Wavy-ness

The wavy-ness makes them not easy to fall over. So sometimes 1 parallel is good enough to stock the workpiece. As the parallels are made of spring steel. You can bend them for special machining operations. It can stock thinner workpieces than what it looks able to do.

Accusize EG10-1440 Machinists Precision Wavy Parallel Set 3 Avoiding Cutting Parallel

Design

Due to the wavy pattern, when it comes to drilling a hole close to the edge of the workpiece, you can avoid drilling the parallels.

Parallelism is good, increases versatility of mill vise for thin part holding.

These are very decent wavy parallels. The price is right and they appear to be within the accuracy as specified. When you need these to set up a part, you need them.

These wavy parallels are functional for those odd vice drilling jobs. Sizes are accurate, but the etching could be darker for easier reading. The storage box is decently built. There are more affordable options out there.

These are perfect for working with smaller parts in smaller hobby machines. I checked them all and the pairs all measured out to be within 0.0005" (the finest resolution my caliper can do) of each other. They also were on size as marked, so no issues there. The wood case holds all the pieces separate and securely so not much to complain, except of one divider being deformed.

I only use these for retaining other parallels for small parts.

Exactly as described! You use these when you've got to clamp a part in a vice and the part is thinner than your other parallels. They seem to be ground pairs -- great addition to the toolbox!

GOT THE IMPRESSION THEY WERE THICKER MOSTLY MY FAULT I GUESS.

I noticed some pretty harsh comments in some of the reviews for these parallels. I would like to dispel some of that misinformation. These are thin/wavy parallels. They are not expected to have the same standard as larger/thicker parallels. Still, these are well within the tolerances according to my surface plate. I think a lot of the comments about these are simply from people that don't understand just how difficult it is to properly test them.If you want to get that nit-picky over a few 0.0001" then pay $1000 bucks for a set. These are a steal at this price.
