Just go ahead and buy this one. Go ahead. Do it. If you buy the cheaper one at your local parts store it will be a Murray brand one and will not fit your 88-98 and some 99-00 Chevy, GMC, Cadillac Escalade truck family because they use a different style tank on one side that will not fit the HVAC box right and will break said box. This one is made by the same company that provided the part to GM in the first place and fit like a glove, after I had the nightmare of pulling a crumbling 30 year old dash to replace the HVAC box broken by the other heater core I tried...BUY THIS ONE!

Appears to be a well made heater core for a 1989 Silverado. Fit perfectly. Thankful it was still available.

Great product and it worked as described! I am a firm believer that sometimes it is better to spend the money on genuine parts vs lower quality parts.

The part was as it should be. Fit great, seems to work as well as factory. Not much to say about a heater I guess. BUT the packaging by Amazon was awful! When I opened it up it was just thrown in the box with some paper. Usually there is cardboard taped to the core to protect the fins, not this time. There was a fair amount of fin damage which I fixed as best I could. I would have sent it back but I couldn't have my car down that long so I put it in hoping for the best. So far so good but we will see. You can see the damage in the pics.
