I put this pickup into my Martin guitar. Easy assembly. Sounds good on my Amp. Also sounds good on the church system. I drilled hole at end to make it permanent but didn't have to. It comes with parts to run the lead out of the sound hole & tape to side or end. Highly recommend.

You have to unplug the jack lead from the pickup when finished playing to keep the battery from discharging while sitting. Unplugging and replugging requires all the strings to be loosened to do so. This is not good for my 46 year old acoustic. Also, the 2nd time i tried to use it the microphone won't work at all. Complete failure and disappointment. Do not buy this if you want something that works. It's a complete waste of money, imo

I've tried a bunch of soundhole pickups for acoustics. I like them for a clean direct recording signal to go with mics and to interchange with several different guitars easily. This one knocked me out. Completely noise free, built in mic and Humbucker mixable, built in preamp, looks great, rechargeable, all this and it sounds great too. All for around $50. Well done !!

After reading at least two reviews of this product, it is clear that the reason they are dissatisfied pertains to the technology of this product, which is only for STEEL STRING ACOUSTIC GUITARS, and will not work on nylon string classical guitars. There are numerous pickups on the market that will sound great in your nylon string guitar, but this is the wrong choice. Please read carefully, and measure the width of your sound hole before purchasing this product.

I installed this pickup in an older "budget" acoustic that I had. That old guitar can sing now!Installation was a breeze. Remove strap peg, drill hole, stick jack through the hole from the inside... (the hardest part of the install.. getting your hands in there is tough!), tightening the nut and cap. Then plug it into the pickup, drop the pickup into the hole and tighten the two screws to clamp it in place.I went ahead and wound the extra length of wire and clipped it to the adhesive block with a zip tie. I stuck it inside so the extra cord wouldn't clunk around inside.Plugged it in and turned it up!The pickup needed a bit of adjusting to get the string volume even. Easy... just turn the post with the hex key so it gets closer or farther from the string. The fact that you can blend in the signal from the built in microphone is nice. It almost acts as a tone knob. I do wish that there was a way to blend the pickup and mic, instead of the pickup being on and the mic being turned up or down. The product looks nice when installed and is easy to set up/install.I am able to get some really nice tones through the amp.Great product.

I'm just a little bit frustrated by the lack of attention to detail. This device looks really nice, and it's a shame that both the listing details and the manual don't match up in quality. For starters, the device is supposed to work on guitars that are 39-42" in length (I assume that measurement is length, I don't know what else it might be). That is very strange, because I don't know what the length has to do with anything! My guitar is 39" long and it definitely doesn't fit.As shown in the photo, I can't mount this on my Cordoba C7 CE, which has a 3.25" diameter sound hole. Even if I could somehow get it in there, the screws would be in contact with the rim of the circle. Neither does it fit on my other Cordoba guitar. This is a fairly common brand of acoustic (classical) guitar and so it is strange that it won't fit.Note also the grammar errors in the manual. You have both "guitar" and "quitar" and many other issues including missing spaces. It gives you the feeling that you're not dealing with a premium product. It is a bit strange that the sound controls are on the bottom of the unit, though they can be accessed from the edge. That means you have to put your finger into the guitar between the strings to try and adjust it. I'm not sure if this is actually a problem because I wasn't able to mount mine. All in all I am disappointed that I don't get to try it out, but I gave it 2 stars instead of one because of that reason and in the hopes that the sound quality might still be decent. It's up to you to decide if you want to risk it.
